Discworld Noir is a game I really enjoyed playing because of the atmosphere, the graphics, the humor and the voice acting. I found Lewton to have a very distinctive voice that contributed to the noir feel and dry humor of the game, but I was not familiar with the actor behind it. Recently I saw the movie "The Trip" with Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon...it turns out that it was Rob Brydon who was the voice of Lewton back in 1999. Anyway, I was surprised to connect this particular game character with a known actor. (I'm not sure that was worth a spoiler alert but maybe some would rather not know who voice actors are)? This is probably more common than I realized. I know of two other famous actors (Michael Dorn, Tim Curry in GK Sins of the Fathers) whose voices have been incorporated into adventure games. Has anyone else been surprised to find a famous actor behind the voice of a game character?

Starship Titanic has John Cleese (under a pseudonym) as the bomb, Terry Jones as the parrot, and Douglas Adams as himself. In The Feeble Files, Feeble is played by Robert Llewellyn, who was Kryten in the Red Dwarf series.
We don't stop playing because we grow old. We grow old because we stop playing.

Let's not forget:
Patrick Stewart as the Emperor in Oblivion. Liam Neeson as The Father in Fallout 3.
Felicia Day also stars in Mark of The Assasin, a DLC, for DA2.
Ron Pearlman in all The Fallouts: War, war never changes is possible the best line ever to open a game....
And Urban Runner (a FMV game from the 1990's) had that actor that starred in Once and Again (Billy Campbell) as the main character, I think.
Joker in the ME games is voiced by Brian Austin Green....
Sorry, I don't know that many voice actors for adventure games...

Lol! It's a long time to next Christmas, ray. Maybe you could invite him to a Cinco de Mayo dinner and have your nerdgasm then. The YouTube videos of that game look like fun. I never did hear your friend say anything but he sure has a mean laugh! Gil.

I will also say this: None of my favorite voice performances in games have EVER been from famous actors.
Roger Raines: Crow in The Longest Journey and Dreamfall.
Matt Weinhold: Arthur in Journey Project 2 and 3
Steve Valentine: Alistair in Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age Origins: Awakening and Dragon Age II
Ellen McLain: GLaDOS in Portal and Portal 2
Nolan North as Nathan Drake
Procrastinate NOW!! Don't put it off!!

Not an adventure game per se, but Fable 3 has the most incredible voice actor cast list I've ever seen. Some may only be well-known in the UK to be fair, but it's still impressive: John Cleese (Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Fish Called Wanda etc) Michael Fassbender (Inglorious Basterds, 300, X-Men, Band Of Brothers) Stephen Fry (The Hobbit, Sherlock Holmes 2, Bones, Blackadder) Naomie Harris (Pirates Of The Caribbean, 28 Days Later) Bernard Hill (Lord Of The Rings (Theoden), Titanic, Gothika, Wimbledon) Nicholas Hoult (X-Men, Clash Of The Titans, About A Boy) Sir Ben Kingsley (Ghandi, Shutter Island, The Love Guru, Lucky Number Slevin, Schindlers List) Simon Pegg (Star Trek, Mission Impossible 3, Shaun Of The Dead, Doctor Who, Band Of Brothers) Sean Pertwee (Event Horizon, Dog Soldiers, Equilibrium) Zoe Wannamaker (Harry Potter, Prime Suspect, Poirot, Doctor Who) Edward Hardwicke (Love Actually, Elizabeth, Shadowlands, Sherlock Holmes (TV - John Watson to Jeremy Brett's Sherlock)) Mark Heap (Stardust, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, About A Boy) Jonathan Ross (UK's biggest Talk Show Host - our David Letterman if you like) Plus a raft of other actors from UK TV soaps like Casualty, Holby City, EastEnders etc. Not bad

"The Trip" with Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon...it turns out that it was Rob Brydon The Trip was actually a 6 part TV series in the UK. The film was heavily edited version of that series (You probably know this already:-)).
