I'm pretty sure the game had wallpapers that were downloadable (someone please correct me if I am wrong). As far as the bonus chapter goes, it fills out the story in that the main character shows the player how events occurred prior to the game's beginning; it's not necessary in order to enjoy the main game but it does add to the storyline. I don't remember the details about the soundtrack. wave

Hi, Dreamer1990!

Personally, if I'm going to pay an extra $7 for a Collector's Edition, I would much rather have a longer bonus chapter than wallpaper, clip art and sound tracks. Some of the newer games also have a section where you can replay the puzzles. I find that useful because I sometimes tend to skip certain puzzles, so I can try and solve them after I've finished the game or replay puzzles I really enjoyed.

The bonus chapters are sometimes an extension of the main game or take place prior to the main game but, as Marian has already said, if you buy the Standard Edition, you won't feel as though you're missing anything.

Enjoy "Otherword" if you decide to buy it. It's a wonderful game!

Susan

Well, my other account on Big Fish Games the e-mail is no longer active so I had to make a new one. With that being said, the first game I buy is $2.99 plus if I try the 1 month trial for better deals. Only problem is, the $2.99 does not cover Collector Editions so I'm thinking getting that one for the $2.99 since the other ones I like are series.

So far I like:
Otherworld
Awakening series
Drawn series (I think unless they're short)
Phantasmat
Cats of Ulthar

But again, I don't know the lengths of Phantasmat or Cats of Ulthar.

Cats of Ultar is fairly long but it is not a difficult game. I enjoyed it because it flowed along very well.

Thank you for your input smile
I started the demo but an hour just flies by.
Is it around the 6-7 hour mark that some of these other ones are?

Do you know anything of Phantasmat or a site that would have more info on the length?
I firmly believe that whether I am paying $2.99 or $9.99 that it should be worth the money and not be too lacking.

I don't like to pinpoint a time frame because we all play differently. I don't skip puzzles, I don't generally peek at a WT and I like to enjoy the scenery. I also believe that time is not equal to quality and I would rather have a short game that was exceptional than a long game that was dragged out by a lot of unneccessary back and forth quests.

Phantasmat is somewhat different in that you can switch to Match 3 if you can't find all the HOs. It's not an unusual length, IMO, but it's probably long enough. That said, it's one of the ugliest games I've ever played. If you don't mind maggots coming out of fish eyes and people with just about as much appeal, go for it.
