I am playing nancy drew- shadow at the water's edge. i have a question, do i have to complete the portrait wire puzzle to continue in the game. i am having a lot of trouble with it. when I printed out the walkthrough for the game, it can out small and dark.
I could use some help on this.

Yes you need to finish it.
The slut ion is random - so the picture is just one result.
Stretch the wires out to see which ones are tangled and work moving then around.
