Hi Ppl wink
Im posting this because i see all other kind of games (rpg, fps, mmo...)getting better in graphics, AI, characters..you know what i mean.

I've always been an adventure games fan. It started with Gabriel K, eco quest(now sure if you guys remember this one), King Quest V, to the longuest Journey. After that i tried many other adventure games but they are all the same.

Dont you think we need more innovation? Am i the only one who see the same pattern in adv game over and over?

Im trying to play *Yesterday* atm and there is no way i ll finish it >< Its always the same.

My point is, we need change in adventure games...LA noire did help a little..but i dont think its enough.

What do you guys think?

I think RPGs "follow a pattern" in just the same way as Adventures do - and I play both.

[I don't play any of the other categories you mention though so I can't comment on those.]

I expect the quality of graphics etc in Adventure games is mainly dependant on the amount of funds available to a developer but personally I feel most of the games I play have been showing the benefits of newer technologies for quite some time. And I've played graphic Adventure games since they were first released onto the market yes

However, as "story" is the most important issue to ME there haven't been that many games with which I've been disappointed at all thumbsup

What kind of "change" are you looking for ?? The addition of more action ??

That certainly wouldn't go down well with a lot of Adventure players. Most of us don't want any "requires fast reflexes" situations plonked into our games. We prefer to fathom a solution in our own time whistle

Hi Lalka

I am in agreement with Mad that we are seeing the benefit of newer technologies in AGs. The story is also the most important aspect for me & I too have rarely been disapponted.

I'm not sure what you mean by AGs needing more innovation?

You mentioned LA Noire didn't go far enough but it seems to be a hybrid like Fahrenheit & Heavy Rain which are considered Action Adventure. Although it sound like a game I'd enjoy it's not the type of game I'd like to see replacing AGs as they are in the name of innovation.

The only thing I'd like to see is talented developers working on small budgets having cheaper access to improved technology.

I think all genres can seem 'samey' if you play enough games but when I've really enjoyed a game I want more of the same so I guess I like 'samey'! smile

I'll side with MAD too here.

To me, a good story backed by good puzzling is the motivation for playing AGs - heavier on the puzzles!

I'm not a fan of RPGs or FPS ( except the old Unreal Tournament :>) ) - so I have little interest in innovations in those genres.

I would like to see more "worth" in a game i.e. more "game" than "glitz" if it were. I would not like to see action elements, mini-games galore, or changes to the game play engines brought in just for the sake of innovation.

Playing them the way they are is one reason I keep coming back for more. Leave them alone - just make more of them ! yay

Roger Wilco chrissie !!

I don't want to think about paying fifty bucks for a developer to "innovate" endless yapping into a game. scared

Yea - I'm a grouch lately. taz
