All answers are true!  Cabaret won 8 Oscars in 1972, but lost Best Picture to The Godfather. Vincent Minelli won Best Director for Gigi in 1958, and Judy Garland received an Honorary miniature Oscar in 1939. (Parents of Liza) Though Marlon Brando was better known for refusing the Oscar for Best Actor in 1972 for The Godfather, Dudley Nichols had done it first. He won it for Best Screenwriting in 1935 for The Informer. One to go...
