everytime i click the forum i get a datebase error.

I'm getting the same thing.
They're probably updating their forum software or something -- at least that's what the problem has been in the past (***Google archived HerInteractive thread***).

Help! When I go to do my download of the new ND Game I get an error code 403-forbidden - aborting. However, I also ordered & downloaded the manual and it came through beautifully & part two of the download appears to have downloaded okay as well, but I cannot check it without the other part working. I have been working on this all day...have tried several different browsers and get the same response. Please help me...what do I need to do get this game running? Any ideas what a 403 forbidden code is? I'd greatly appreciate your help, Thank you very much. ~pd

One of the possibilities is "Too many users"

Thank you for your help; it definitely eased my mind to know it was likely an error/problem with permissions at their end. I had been pulling my hair out trying every "trick" I knew (it's a short list). I tried running it off & on all night long at odd hours, tried 4 different browsers, reduced my security - firewalls, & antivirus program, etc. all the while waiting for a response to a request for assistance I sent to both Her Interactive & Digital River which came through just a bit ago directing me to an alternate server which has now enabled me to complete the download and has just finished installing the game as I type. Thank you (again) very much for your help! ~pd

Glad you got it fixed. It sounds like their main server was either ailing or overloaded with requests.

Just FYI - here is a portion of the email they sent. It seems the problem was a little more widely spread than it appeared at first and they apologized accepting responsibility for the problem (which they would probably do anyway because it's just good business [aka the customer is always right... even when they're not]). I'm not including the hyperlink they sent me because I think we must allow them to dictate who & when folks are directed there, but I thought some who may still be waiting should know there's a light at the end of the proverbial tunnel, that contacting them gets quick results (less than 24 hrs) & if they get the same error I had they needn't tear their hair out trying 50 different ideas to resolve it before resorting to contacting support.

Downloading from here was quick & 100% successful the 1st time! Anyway thought this might prove interesting & a relief for any one who might be in the same shoes I was in yesterday... It also illuminates what a classy company HI & Digital River are to deal with (aren't you glad I didn't say "interact" with? I am...sorry that was pretty lame.)

Well now that I've written a long novel where none was likely necessary I'll sign off & go play my game.
