Help! I'm in the medical centre, have got rid of the secretary & have two names + passwords but I'm at a loss as to where to find the login & password for the mainframe compuer?

If you read the angry email that Emma was typing to her boss, she explains to him what his user name is. This should be in Emma's email Draft folder, or if you sent it, it will be in the other guy's inbox.

When resetting a password, you have to enter the username to reset. From Emma's angry email, we know the username for the mainframe is


Log in to the email computer as the doctor to find this information! His email username (different from the mainframe username) is in the "To:" section of Emma's email to him. Ray also takes a note of every username and password you come across in his phone, so you can check there if you forget!

Thank you for your help VinceTwelve! I've finally been able to log-in - I was taking the commands too literally & kept typing in '- /passreset' instead of just '/passreset'!

If I may ask a question in this thread please - I am also at that computer mainframe and have checked Emma's "drafts" but all I see there is "Dear Idiot", no email, like she did not even start it, so do I just click on that Greeting?

OK, I clicked on Emma's drafts, clicked on Dear Idiot and the email she started appeared, but in the w/t it is said that the doctor's name is E. Ruiz (Edmundo) but in my game it is not that it is E. Goldberg and I cannot get a correct user name no matter which name I use. Any ideas on what name this is supposed to be? Nothing's working for me! Thanks

I'm using that walkthru and my game does not have same "idiot"'s name so am stuck trying to figure out first name of Dr. Goldberg - it starts with an E. but is not Edmundo - am needing help please

Hi Betty Lou, you need to access Dr Goldberg's account on the secretary's computer where you will see his full name at the top on the welcome screen.

I have made it OK to the other terminal, have the cotton swabs, am attempting to follow w/t instructions to the letter and nothing is working, again, typed edmrui press enter, press enter again no instructions (should I then type what is on each line of the "help" screen?), no "pos inst reset pswd" so cannot send new password anywhere. Stuck again & just not understanding the walkthru instrs. Help please

OH wait, have figured that part out - one must include that / symbol so I am at the screen asking for user name but edmrui and enter does not do it, computer won't accept this user name and have tried variations of egoldberg too and getting nowhere, not accepted. what am I not understanding in the w/t here? Still need help pls

Betty Lou, you might have a different name than was used in the walkthrough? I see you mention a professor E. Goldberg, so that would mean you login to the receptionists computer using that name and use passcracker to "hack" into his email account to read his first name. Then the username for the mainframe would be

Just to add to PolloDiablo's reply - the names do apparently vary - I had E Goldberg too in the full game & on the mainframe terminal I entered

Mine was alexei jones. Entered alejon. The first time I went through it was really hard, but the second time it was a breeze.

Oh, OK, but I see part of my problem is that it does not give Goldberg's full first name only the initial E, will try all 3 of those passwords and see if any one of them will get me "in" - its really not hard once the system is understood but when ya don't get the names you need to dope out the pwd then ya got a problem! If it doesn't work I'll be back and thanks you guys - I knew GB was the place to get the help I needed, it's always been so since I joined up here in late 1990's (don't remember just what year I joined, must be getting old!?) Thanks Mag, I have not been paying attention I guess. Lots on my plate these days.
The Demo = I have finished with that computer and terminal and have the info that it has stored all my DNA data (the characters) and the walkthru says that is the end of the third part of the game - then "you'll end up as Anna" etc but that is not happening - I'm stuck there in that reception area, done with the computer and terminal and don't know what to do next, cannot get out and nothings happening. Does this demo have some "bugs" in it to be worked out or am I just not doing something right to "trigger" what comes next so I can get on with it? There is still more to do, and part 4 and the Final part and here I am standing around wondering "whats next?"

Look on the cell phone at the list of tasks you're supposed to do - are any of them unchecked?

one goal not done, checking file 4 file drawers for my file, used full name and that doesnt work, used number of the file from terminal and that doesnt work either. Still stuck. Figure when I finish this goal I should then be automatically Anna and 3rd part will be finished but stuck here. I'm finding this game to be a little "clunky" or wonky or something, and the walkthru leaves a lot out that is needed since there are no clues when one is stuck to give one an idea of what to do next or what to look for, sorta leaves one hanging. Hope the rest of the game is easier than this to figure out. THanks for the help

Hi BettyLou, I'm sorry that your're having problems! Just to be sure did you get the file reference by entering 'a batra' on the mainframe terminal after entering '/search'?

In Bert's walkthrough the file reference is just a number, in my game the file reference was a couple of letters followed by a number.

Did you right-click on all of the drawers to get a description? If you then left-click on the correct drawer you should be able to access the file by entering the exact file reference into the box that appears bottom right. Hope tht makes sense!

NB The full name for Dr Goldberg can be found by entering egoldberg as the user name on the secretary's computer then using the password cracker from inventory. Once you've got into his account it should say 'Welcome 'first name' Goldberg' at the top.
