I know this is a really old game but I am currently trying to replay it.

I'm still in chapter 1 and the walkthroughs all refer to mailing a letter to Grace.

No matter what I have tried I cannot get Gabriel to write the letter.

Does anyone remember how?

I'm assuming that you've checked both of GB's walkthroughs for this game?

The letter to Grace is written at the very beginning of the game, so it isn't dependent on doing anything major beforehand, but check what UHS Hints has listed below.

UHS Hints states:

As with all adventure games, begin by checking your inventory to see what you're carrying.

That bag laying on the floor looks interesting.

Open the bag and Gabriel will take everything he needs.

Did you notice the newspaper laying on the table?

Read the paper and you'll learn that Kommisar Leber is heading up the murder investigation.

Don't you think you should answer Grace's letter and let her know what you're up to?

You'll find everything you need on the table next to the newspaper. [Here, one of GB's walkthroughs states to "click on the paper on the table. Gabe will write a letter to Grace."]

Now that you've written to Grace, you might want to keep your eyes open for someplace to mail your letter.

Then to find the Post Office:

Back to the Market Walk to the right, FAST FORWARD walk past all the shops until you end up near the musican.
Walk round the left corner in front of you. Walk across the road to the grey Post Office building.
Select to use the letter to Grace on the door.

Iknow it's a really old game but does anyone have a saved game for the end of Chapter 5.

I tried every walkthrough and I just can't do it!!! The wolf eats me every time

are you talking about the furnace room? Every walkthrough I went through had an error that the wolf got me, and finally SOMEWHERE on the net I found one that worked. Have you tried the Sierra forums for their walkthrough? That is the only thing I can think of right now, is check out many different sites for walkthroughs.

Hi Ernestine, I merged your thread with your existing one for this game.

There are some saved games HERE which you might find helpful. You need to be a member of the site to be able to download the files, but membership is free and quick.

Or someone here may have a save if we wait a little while.

I have some saves but I didn't mark them. There are two places getting past the wolves. If you don't get any help I could put the game back in my computer and check it out for you. It would be XP saves.
