I recently bought a laptop after my desktop died, and now I must download my games on a new Win7 laptop.
I saw other posts here about the Downloader from The Adventure Shop not working, but couldn't find the solution.
After watching the game download over an hour, and seeing that the file downloaded 100%, all MB are there, the install game button does not show up on the downloader. This error message appears: the download of the lost crown has been stopped after 3 failed attempts. please check your internet connection and click on "Retry".
Of course, retry does not help, right clicking on the downloader shows that it has stopped working, close the program and windows tries to determine why it stopped working, with no success and then that small popup window just closes by itself.
I tried "manual download", both from the links sent in the confirmation email and the links on the "my games" page itself on the website.
There are three files, but clicking on any of the links opens a Lost Crown installation page asking me to install Disk 1 and then click ok.
The files, from both the downloader and the email look like this:
Manual download (if you do not want to use our download manager). Save the following files in the same folder:
LostCrown_Setup.exe
LostCrown_Setup-1.bin
LostCrown_Installation_Key.txt
Can anyone suggest a solution? I have a dozen games in my account there, and would like to replay a few of them in the future.
As I recall, their support staff has never been very helpful, but manual download always worked before when I had XP. Of course, I checked their help pages on downloading, but it is pretty basic.
Long story short - the download link insists that I install the disk in the computer, which makes no sense. (?)
