I have played this game before and don't remember having any problems here at the beginning. It's after the explosion and I've got the telescope out and set, but I get no activity on the crystal viewer. Checked the walkthrough and followed it up to this point and still can't find where I've gone wrong. It's bound to be some thing simple.

Any suggestions?

My problem is that the crystal shapes never appear. The screen on the viewer is black with faint shadows, the screen where the shapes are supposed to appear is just blank. Moving the slider does nothing.
I checked for a patch, doesn't seem to be any.
maybe I'll have to uninstall and re-install, though I can't see that as really solving the problem.

If this is where I'm thinking, I had a similar problem and it was linked to the graphics card I was using. I don't remember if I had to get a new card or update the drivers, but the problem cleared up once the graphic card issue was resolved.

You might Google the problem and see if there isn't something out there about this. Or, go to Ubisoft and see if there isn't information there.

I went to Ubisoft to find they had a patch as well as an updated driver for NVidia. I downloaded the patch, installed it and I've got crystals in the viewer now!
I'll try installing the new driver later to see if that does anything.

later-- I may have finally gotten the shapes on the right hand display, but I can do nothing else.
Installed the new NVidia driver and updated the Quick Time; still nothing.

Now what?

Back to square one. Tried uninstalling and re-installing, re-played quickly up to the crystal viewer only to be back at the blank viewer in spite of the installed patch.

Oh no! Maybe post at Glitches also and see if they have any word of wisdom that might help.

Sorry I can't remember what I had to do to fix this, it was several years ago.

Mag - that is provably what I should have done in the first place, didn't think of it.
