Hi all! I'm stuck at the point where I have to get into the renovation room at the castle. Walkthrough says, " Jump to castle.
Watch as Jonathan climbs the wall of the castle and enters the renovation shop.
Go forward at left side. Pan left and click when action cursor appears."
When I jump to the castle he doesn't climb the wall. I tried walking through the gate and clicking on renovation room with Julie's father's keys and he says something about it not working yet. I have the rope and grappling hook, but there is no where to click on to get him started climbing!
Heellllpp!

Yes, I did both of those, Mag. I'm not sure why it's not working. Maybe I should go back and talk to the guard a second time and see if that kicks something off.
The only thing I can think of is that after I picked up the keys I went to the castle without combining the hook and rope the first time. So I went back out and combined it and came back in. I hope I didn't glitch it.

I had already talked to him earlier and he told me about the renovation shop. I just went back in case I missed something, and he's not talking now. So I'm stuck!
I'm going to to go back over the walkthrough to see if I missed a step somewhere.
Hmmm. No luck. Maybe someone else will come on that had the same problem and tell me what to do. I could load an older save, but I'd hate to have to redo stuff.

Jean, I sent you a bunch of saves between tombstone and crest puzzle. I believe that one of the earlier ones might be the one you need.

Thanks Mag and Pilaus. Somehow I accidentally deleted my games and have to start over again, lol. So I'll keep that in mind about nothing happening in the daytime for when I get to that spot.
I really like this game and want to play it through to find out what happens!

Me too! It's going quicker this time. The first time I walked around the whole city first thinking that was what I was supposed to do, lol. This time I left that part out.
Hopefully I'll get to the point soon!

Well, I'm up to the point, have done everything, went back to every place I've been, and I still can't get him to climb the walls. It's still daylight.
I think I'm going to have to put the game down for a few days. I'm starting to get annoyed. And I really want to see how it turns out.

Hmm. I wonder if I can order a drink at the cafe? No one is left there for me to talk to. I'll try that later.

There was a thread where the same problem was mentioned: old thread. This seems to be the same case, so MaG's suggestion there might work for you too

Thanks Pilaus and Mag! The lantern did it, and I got in. Now for the rest of the game.

Finished! And what a fantastic game, with a great ending. I have to admit I used the walkrough for most of the last half, but it's a game well worth playing. The actors were all brilliant! This is one I'm sure to play over again someday.
