Yes, set numbers should be green.

Here are the correct settings from MaG's walkthrough, which also shows a screenshot of the completed puzzle:

Channel 1 level = 35.

Channel 2 level = 75.

Channel 3 level = 96 to 100.

Channel 4 level = 50.

Channel 5 level = 100.

Me frequency = 93

Bess frequency = -87 to -99

Cars frequency = 27.

Birds frequency = 73 to 83.

Bugs frequency = -100.

Note that only Bess frequency and Bugs frequency should be in the "minus" state.

luck

You can save throughout the tunnel part of the game and it will stop the timer.

Yes - you always have a second chance but best save before entering - so you can always go back to a place where there are no errors.
Then save at parts you know is correct. luck

Deleterman, if you're still on that maze, I can share with you what works for me. I go to http://www.nancydrewmania.com/hints/ashhints.htm, scroll down to the bottom and the part that says
I need help getting out of the tunnels!, click the Show Hints link. What I do from there is either use a dry erase board or a piece of paper and draw the symbols. Then in game all I have to to is look at my list

Hi Helen,

The shape puzzle is only described in the paper that you find in the "Dust and Dirt" book. It gives you clues on how to navigate the tunnels. So if you've found that paper -- that's all you need.

Hi agnes,

Do you need a saved game? I have one, but the gameplay doesn't follow the walkthrough and you'd need to check the tasklist to see what has/hasn't been done in the game. I'd be happy to send you it -- let me know. Otherwise MaG might have one that follows the walkthrough sequence.

But according to the walkthrough:

After 3 completed failed tries, the puzzle timer stops one minute before the best time and allows the gamer to win the game.

So you might try that. luck
