A download of that size would also take 4 or 5 days for me too. My wireless broadband is fairly speedy up to about 65 MB, but then they choke it down to a crawl of 60 - 70 Kbps.
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.

Stephen,
Have you thought about using a download manager?
"Download acceleration, also known as multipart download, is a term for the method employed by software such as download managers to download a single file by splitting it in segments and using several simultaneous connections to download these segments from a single server." (Wikipedia)
I downloaded The Witcher 2, which really is a huge file (over 16 GB), so large that they have already split it in segments of 2 GB each that you can download separately with your browser, but using GOG's downloader, I had the whole thing in hours with a dsl speed of about 10 Mbps. The default on the GOG downloader is 4 simultaneous connections, as I recall. So, I know they work.
Unfortunately, I haven't used any other download manager in so long I can't recommend one that's fast, free, doesn't add things to your computer you don't want and is safe, but maybe someone else can.
Gil.

I have a fast internet connection also and after 12 hours I am only at 22% downloaded. It's going to take forever.

B.E.T., Have you checked with Speed Test or Speakeasy to see if you're getting the download speed you're paying for? Gil.

My download speed on the test is 19.61 mbps. My download through metaboli to get the game is an average of 17-50 kb/s.

Did you buy the game through Amazon? They have their own installer which is lightening quick and puts an icon on your desktop for the download. I found it went very quick. I'm not sure of exact time as I wasn't really timing it, went out of the room and watched TV. However when I came back in it was done and it was under an hour.

I am using the installer from The Adventure Shop and downloading from them. I let it run all nught and I am now at 62%. Something tells me it's their downloader and I should have done it without it like I have in the past.

I think it's the downloader too. I won't use it again. 73% now.

I downloaded The Dark Eye from The Adventure Shop yesterday and it took six hours. I've never had anything take that long from anywhere before !! I didn't use their downloader, though. I just did it via FireFox.

I will personally contact Metaboli monday about this, because I think it's not acceptable to spend 39.99 on a game and need more time to download it than to get it by post.
Thank you for looking into it for us.

For anyone who hasn't gotten this game yet buy it from Amazon. The whole download process went flawlessly. First their downloader loads onto your desktop and then the actual download and install occurs. I didn't actually time the download but it was under an hour (30mbps connection). I knew this bcause I was watching a DVR'd tv show zapping the commercials and it was done when I went to check it after the show.
Regards,
Barry
