Have you checked the typewriter and trash can of the secretary? Have you also checked the sandwich on Farley's desk? Did you click on the correct index card? Position your cursor where it is circled here.

Yes the one that watson said you can see the street even with the curtain closed did that
---- went back to the beginning and did all stuff as per walkthrough step by step and in deduction board is knightsbridge and kurtz and no down arrow am assuming deduction board is at bottom next to the pile of books and beside something that is not available a pic of holmes and watson. thanks for help may need to get saved game if we cannot figure it out and have now got windows 7 so that's going to be a challenge hope someone can help thanks gja.
------------ Hi Rushes went to you tube to check on another part of this dvd and is exactly like the walkthrough from MaG but when I go to the deduction board I should have deduction knightsbridge, deduction kurt and deduction journalist but I don't have the journalist one. Any help appreciated thanks. gja --------- went back to where the boy fell into the burning smelt. Followed walkthrough exactly still no deduction journalist on deduction board thanks. gja

Ah - you want a saved game. let me play until I get to that spot.
I found a saved game close to where you want to be. Check the deduction board to see if it has been done already.
It is quite big - hope it goes through the mail. I zipped it - so extract the file inside.

sorry mag won't let me play slide show the only things I can click on on Farleys desk is the ashtray and the sandwich have done both, got card looked through windown curtain etc. but still no deduction journalist if it went through where would it go? thanks could it be because I have windows 7 and can't find where you sent the saved game too. When I opened my email and clikced on your message could not do slide show because of error and looked at pic you sent and that is exactly where the ashtray is I took ash and examined cigar so have done as much as I can can you send me a save the old way into documents thanks MaG. gja appreciate your patience.

You have to "show hidden files". Here's how to display hidden files and folders.
Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then click OK.
This will show you AppData and other gray colored files.

Gemma, You don't place it in My Documents. After you do the "show hidden files" procedure stated above; then place the file that you unzipped from the folder I sent to the save folder that you should see now at:C drive - User - your computer's name - App Data - roaming - frogwares - Testament - save folder. Let's have a go again. Do this. Saved game sent that is with the mail: - Click hold the file that is in your mail and place-drop it on desktop. Then unzip the folder. Then show hidden files: - Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options. - Click the View tab. - Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then click OK. Now that you will see those folder, move the saved game file sent: - Open your saved game folder found in C drive - User - your computer's name - App Data - roaming - frogwares - Testament - save folder. - Then place the file inside the unzipped folder inside that save folder. Close it. - Play and load as usual. Look for my saved game at start of load list.

You need to go into your game save folder where all your other saves are for the game, and note the last numbered save there.
Then go to the unzipped save you have on your desktop and renumber that to follow on one in sequence. Then move the renumbered file into the folder with all your other saves.
Just one thought about something you might have missed in your gameplay. You say you clicked on the ashtray. You should have clicked on the cigar itself AND the very tip (burning end) of the cigar. That's two different spots. It's really easy to miss clicking on the burning tip. Just an idea.
