Hello everybody

This great little gem of a MMO - The Secret World (TSW) has gone B2P with NO sub.

Of course there's still the opportunity to subscribe in different ways, but if that's not your cup of tea, then it's totally FREE to play with NO restrictions!

AMAZON has the game on SALE right now for around $15 - normally it's more around $50-60 - so go get it if you feel like trying it out.
I think STEAM too has it on sale.

The playerbase are definitely more mature and the tone on the forums too.
So far we have been blessed with almost no trolls :)

It's VERY different from other MMO's - no classes etc.
You are just you, who can dress ANY WAY you like.

YOu start out in a training area, where you get to pick 2 different weapons.
These 2 you can actually use for the rest of the game if you like, lol

The skills you get from a wheel which contains different features for each kind of weapon.

SP points goes to add the amount of damage/healing/survival etc for each weapon.
AP goes to unlock different damage/healing/AOE effects for each weapon.

You get to add 7 active skills and 7 passive skills from the AP wheel.
The active skills HAS to be from whatever weapon you have equipped - the passives you can also pick from weapons you don't have equipped.

Eventually you'll have ALL skills for ALL weapons unlocked and can "respec" into whatever role/weapon you like.

Some weapons are clearly meant for healing, others more for tanking or DPS - but it's really all up to you, HOW you want to put it all together and play.

Really a new and refreshing look at an MMO.

Forgot the most important part.
Some of the missions(repeatable) they have are VERY adventure like.

I played the free 3 day demo, and enjoyed it.

Bought the hard copy today, and some killer gaming headphones so Diane will quit telling me to turn it down.

I'm totally involved in Guild Wars 2 right now.

Try to do one big game at a time, to stay focused.

Really like the game. Level 36 right now

I am looking forward to Secret World.

End of the World event- it's awesome...

Misslilo, what's going on at the End of the World?

Well, mayan zombies, huge ugly and deadly harbingers, mayan witchdoctors spawning everywhere and dropping stuff like great weapons, special Ki'n points(money), mats and runes, which can be used to open the gates to a dungeon with even more fun challenges.

Needles to say I haven't been in the dungeon, because I'm too scared and haven't gotten all the runes required, lol.

There's tons of people running around killing, kiting and whatnot.
Very busy.

It has absolutely nothing to do with christmas though :P

There's Lore to be found and achievements to be...well achieved

Remember this is not an MMO like any other - it's FILLED with story. Great story.

The lore and achievements has great writing in them.. really fantastic writing, if you take the time to read it.
One can tell it stems from Ragnar...

Forgot to add, that I have 5 "Buddy keys", which gives you free access to try the game for a 24 hour period.

You'll receive an email with instructions - so PM me your preferred email address and I'll send it to the first 5 I receive

Be prepared for a long download - it's around 30GB - and the downloader can be a little tricky...
But just close it and reopen it and everything will be OK again.

Since Pre-Launch back in the spring 2011 - was it april??

There's even a thread, where you can list your in-game name for newcomers to add as friends, if they need help playing.

Most newcomers, that post on the forum to say hi, can't believe, they didn't try the game earlier. Says a little about the freshness and quality of the game

Of course it has bugs and whatnot as all new MMO's has - but it's worth mentioning, that Funcom has spewed out a new content EVERY month up til now.
They have in fact enough new content made already for the next 6 months - if not more.

Then there's the Issues (DLC's) - we're up to #5 now already... just awesome....

About the bugs - funcom staff regularly go on the forums and post/reply to stuff people are concerned about. They have even changed a few things, because people were not pleased with stuff.

Example:
Subscribers get - among a few free items - 1200 Bonus Points($10) every month to be used for the new Issue/DLC(so you sort of get it for free instead of buying it from the store).
Some thought that was not a big enough incentive to become a subscriber - what did they do?
They declared they would add Veteran Rewards also.. not sure what it is yet - but it shows, they listen

How is this going to be affected by the closure of Funcom?

Funcom is NOT closing - it wont' affect TSW at all.

Well shucks, I went ahead and did a small little install of TSW.

Am now helping the sheriff of that Qaint little town in america, the port one. You know what I mean if you have started it , to deal with a strange fog & a BIG zombie problem

I am a sucker for good stories, this one just might fit the bill.

Way different than Guild Wars.

Well I seem to be playing TSW a'lot.

Pretty step learning curve,still learning stuff.

The story keeps pulling me in for computer time.Puzzels can be difficult to hair pulling.

Went to savage coast, and had to go back & do some leveling up.

Can be a,little buggey some times. nothing to bad though.

Have not did the dungeon in Kingsmouth yet. Supposed to be good drops in there.

I like the effort that went into makeing this game though.

Savage coast ,some guy started following me & said he was going to help me out,I did'nt know who he was & chicken-bleeped out.

Sorry to who ever that was. I was'nt leveled up enough anyway.
