Iam really enjoying this one, playing the JR level, checking the w/t when I am stuck, seem to have missed an opportunity to see what Abdullah is trying to translate when he left to fight with Jamila and now can't get access to the wall by the scaffolding. Do I have to go back to my last saved game and replay up to that scene to get to the wall or is there another way to do it? Thanks for the help,

You can check the sign behind Abdullah anytime but you can also climb the scaffolding beside him anytime too.

OK, but how do I get an "active" cursor when he is there? and from the scaffolding up above I cannot "see" the hyroglypics he is actually studying, only the ones up above that platform which I already translated and I do not get "then the glyphs cannot be translated". I'm a bit confused. Thanks for your help Mag.

Hi Betty Lou,

According to UHS Hints there are only two occasions when you can get Abdullah to move out of the way so you can examine what he's working on (apart from the glyphs high up on the scaffolding).

OK, I'm back ontrack, used a previous savedgame to get to the right place, now am confused - am snooping around Lily's bunk and cannot find that book "left of the bed" Krolmeister Instruction Manual, cannot turn to look at bed once I am all the way into her "space" and can only get active cursor on that other book on the bed and those sunglasses. What have I missed? where should I look for that book? Thanks, and Happy Christmas Eve

If I remember correctly - look in Lily's bunk. You should just be facing in the bunk.
Then you will see the bed and the trunk and other things inside that bunk.
You then pan and look at left side of bed and see the manual on the floor.

Thanks, Mag, (MERRY CHRISTMAS) I gave it another try and it is - standing facing the trunk, click on trunk for closeup, look at upper left space beyond the trunk and there it is! I am stuck again - I am trying to figure out how to open that numberlock on Lily's trunk - I have read the Kolmeister book and do not have a "transparency" - I do have a scrap of paper with 4 numbers on it, but do not know if that is what I needand how to use it, I have tried those 4 numbers on the squares and have the image from the walkthrough but somehow it does not make sense to me - and it doesn't work no matter what order I use those numbers in choosing squares. So, can someone please lead me to the right path? Thanks much

There are two papers that make up the transparency for Lily's lock.

One will be given to you.
The other you find after solving the bird tile ceiling puzzle.

You should see numbers and colors in the puzzle.
The objective is to make squares or rectangle shapes made up of that number of boxes.

OH, I solved the bird tile puzzle and don't remember getting a part of that transparency only that it opened that other door back to the hallway. I have = 1. word puzzle solved with results being blue, red, green and yellow words Blue Cat Opens Tomb 2. "numbers bottom" 3. torn paper scrap about jackal amulet 4. The journal 5. Pantheon 6. Relic book 7. map of tunnels 8. Jon's notebook 9. Glyphs book and 10. Dictionary Who gave me one part of this puzzle solution? is it that the colors (words) and the "numbers" are to be put together for this transparency? Thanks for the help

I have the walkthrough printed out and cannot even get the same colors in the same spots as the image in your helpful "guide" Mag. And clicking on reset resets the colors but not anything like your image. Then I don't know what order to push/clickdrag them in either

I'm having the same isssue. It's been days and I can't move forward! I've solved the bird puzzle and have the bottom number piece. But I know I'm supposed to talk to Lily to find out/trigger why she and Abdullah have argued but she's not in the tent and no where to be foudn. Also, can't get back into Jamila's bag the 2nd time around where I think the 2nd piece of numberlock is. Would anyone have a saved game?

Have you found Jamila in her usual spot, studying that mural? Tell her about some new discovery and she will leave so you can search her bag again, and again, and again as many times as you have that option in your list of dialogues with her. Hope this helps. If you use someone else's saved game it may not be that they did things in the same order that you did. good luck

I do keep going back to talk to Jamila but no dialogue options comes up except for "see you later". Nothing "new" for her to run off to see. It's like I've exhausted the possibility? I've called everyone more than once and Abdullah is also still away from his post at scaffolding even though I've gotten his key for his trunk. I think it may be a glitch in the game. At this point, I'm willing to try a saved game.

You also have the option of loading up your previous saved game to where you are now and replaying it to see if you have missed something - rediscovering something "new" will then give you something to talk to Jamila about and send her on her way. I find this works for me most of the time. Good luck

Not sure where in the mystery you are at.
Did Dylan tell you a secret about Jamila's bag?
You will get other chances to search it but it may not be the right time.

I will have to reread some of the w/t to be sure if I had that conversation already with Dylan or not - I think I did and don't remember her giving me anything. Will get back to you later. I am on page 23 of Mag's w/t and have searched thru her purse need maybe to talk to her again. Thanks for your help be back later gotta walk my dog now

No, I only have the numbers bottom sheet, not the colour sheet. Dylan did tell me that Jamilia has lots of things in her bag and she kept putting things in or out of it - something like that. I'm nearing the end of the game and I think have solved almost all puzzles though still have to open the golden mummy found in the tomb just past the Destiny pathway.
Not sure how or when I'll get other chances to send Jamila away so I can search her bag again and don't know where the heck Lily or Abdullah are hiding.

This is what it says at UHS Hints about getting into Jamilla's bag for the second time:

When you talk to Dylan after you rescue him from the crash he says something about seeing Jamila pull things out of her seemingly empty bag. Sounds like a false bottom or a secret compartment to me. We need to get into that bag again.

That shouldn't be too hard; all we have to do is repeat the trick of telling her about something interesting elsewhere, and she'll run off to go look at it. Right?

Well, yes. But unfortunately, it's going to take a very long time for that conversation option to come up again. Frustrating!

In fact, you won't get the option to distract her again until after you've talked to her about everything you found when you finally got to search through Abdullah's trunk.

ok, but I already searched his trunk and saw his items but it hasn't triggered my being able to get her to go look at somethng elsewhere. I was able to confront her about what the letter said about her career etc. But now it simply doesn't show up in the dialogue box as an option anymore. I'm afraid only a saved game can save me now. Pardon the pun.

My saved games are not here with me. I looked and can't find any mailed saved games either.

The advise given are all good - you need to talk and keep on talking to everyone including calling Jon and Hotchkiss - both of them can trigger things also.

I am at the end "race game" now, it turns out I had not talked to Jamila again and gotten the other half of the number paper from her - there are no colors on it but the colors are not needed as putting the two papers together at the trunk (just having them both in inventory is all I needed) and the colors and numbers worked together. I opened the trunk OK no problem and am "on my way"
