I am tired of the dark and/or horrifying type games.
Also, the website is a visual nightmare...

I agree that they are mostly "dark" games being released nowadays unfortunately.

Haven't they made a higher proportion of "dark" games for some time now? Whether it's murder mysteries, ghost stories, games about crazy psychopaths, games with monsters of some sort, or "dark" fairy tales, most of the HOPA/Adventure Lites end up being "dark" themed. I think Journey: Heart of Gaia and The Nutcracker were the last games I played that weren't "dark."
If you enjoy other genres, there are plenty of resource management games, time management games, and even RPG's that aren't "dark."

I too am disappointed in the BF games offered-but not in the same way. I love dark, creepy, mysterious, eerie games (no gore though). My big gripe is that they offer as 'new game' of the day the cut down version of the Collector Edition. That's not really a 'new' game, just a chopped off version of one that has already been offered. I think if they're going to do that then they should also offer at the same time a actual 'new' game. I get the CE's sometimes, just for the extra game play-not the wallpapers, etc.-if the game seems to be really interesting. So, i've decided not to buy anymore CE's..funds are tight, and just for that extra bit of game play i'll jus t wait for the same game(minus wallpaper, extra puzzles, or whatever) to come out in another month or so. I'd love for them to have even more creepy games, but it does seem as though they don't have as many as they used to. At least good ones-the last MCF was a real disappoinment-there must have been NONE of the same people who worked on their other past games working on that one. pffuii. oh-well, that's my rant for the day!

If the market is clamoring for those types of games, that's what will be offered the most. I don't mind them per say, just wish they were more of a challenge and had better graphics.

I stopped buying most CEs also, and I'm also very tired of: Constant dark and dreary Too many H0s, especially the ones not even plot related. (Who stops on the way to save someone from a sacrificial altar to play an Ho?} The villain that never, ever dies or stops. Gosh, even the Wicked Witch had a house fall on her. Recycled plots---save your *whatever* from the evil *whatever* in a strange world. Puzzles that insult intelligence. (Turning over 16 cards to make pairs is a challenge?) I could list more, but these will do for now. As Homer pointed out, I have a goat to get. *giggle*

Thank you, Mad. I love playing big adventures, and RPGs as well, and I've done both for many years. So I totally agree with you that variety is the spice of life!

I agree there are too many darkside games. Casual games I feel, should be a way to relax and have fun which is what the lighter genre offers. I dropped my membership due to all the murder and mayhem style games they now offer. Have been watching Playrix for games that are much more on the lighter side and I feel more family oriented.

I actually love the darker games. The thing that is bothering me about the Big Fish games for the most part is how similar they are. All the HOG/IHOG games look like they are made by the exact same company, no matter the subject. The graphics and the scenes are all the same. The inventory and menus are the same. We have to look for the exact same objects and play the exact same mini games. I feel like I'm playing one game over and over again. I'm sure there are some good, unique ones out there somewhere. I'm just not finding them at the moment.

Remember that BigFish does not develop these games, they are just publishing or acting as a portal for the developers. No where else do you get a new game every day and you can imagine how hard it is to maintain that.
The developers are trying to make what will be successful and sells, if you have any suggestions most of these developers are on FaceBook and do indeed communicate to those who post and comment to them. If you continue to buy them and do not give them feedback how will they know they are doing something you are tired of?

Social Media has become the easiest way to keep up and communicate with the developers. If people really want to make a difference that will be seen and heard that is the route to take. I actually like colorful and bright games like Journey: The Heart of Gaia and anything steam punk but appreciate all of them if they are well done. Ana

Well, to me, there is no better company for these types of games than Big Fish. The very rare times I've actually had issues with the games, they've always been very helpful. I'll never leave them. I just think these things tend to go in cycles. A certain type of product is popular so the market gets flooded with it. That's why every cable channel has to have five reality shows these days. It'll change. It always does.
