I am completely flummoxed. I had to resort to the guide. I solved all the puzzles to get into the tower (the hexagon codes)...in other words: if I had not solved these puzzles,I wouldnt have had the codes revealed to me,right?
ANyway,I'm on the bridge with the missing sections. I entered 2 of the three codes by depressing the correct buttons corresponding to the puzzles. The first two spans appeared. Now I'm at the last button-presser. I entered the third of the 3 codes (pressing the correct buttons), and the third bridge panel will NOT open up so I can get into the tower.
I am stumped,and after two days of this,it is NOT fun anymore.
Please tell me I dont have to retrace and re-do all the ice-ball puzzles over. That'd be a game-breaker as far as I'm concerned.
I really need help; to get past this...thansk boomers!
according to the walkthrough,it's the balance-pinball (yellow) codes that dont work for me...which was the first code revealed to me when I adjusted the fulcrum.

If you scroll down on this page to where it says "tower entry puzzle," you will find what seems to me a pretty good explanation of how to solve it. It doesn't sound like there is anything you have missed, but it doesn't hurt to check a couple of different sources.

Let us know. We have some Myst players around who should be able to help.

Thanks. I did everything one was suppsoed to do to solve these puzzles,or else I think the codes wouldn't have been "revealed to me". There may indeed be a bug here in my game;not sure.
Mysties: can someone answer this for me: is it pozzible that the three codes wont expand the bridge pieces, if I've been "revealed" these codes? I KNOW I'm punching the bottons correctly to correspond with the three codes. The first 2 bridge pieces open properly,but the third button sequence,corresponding exactly with the third code, doesnt do anything.

I dread having to go back and replay everything to get to this point in this chapter.
But before I do so,I need to know from someone who's played the game (recently,I guess)the answer to my question;
If I have had the three "codes" revealed to me previous to my crossing the bridge,then should i suppose I did everything right to that point? And if that's the case, then why isnt the third code working when I press the buttons correctly (in order to get the third bridge piece to open up and thus enter the tower)?
If I've been revealed the codes and have done something incorrectly,how is that possible (it's not according to the official guide ....purchased when I bought this game years ago)?
I'm really hoping it's just a bug.
FYI:I patched the game (recently re-installed on my PC,running WIn7) to version 1.22; if that matters.

I bit the bullet...sicne it was too dang hot to venture outside here today. Went back to an earlier save,spent a LOOONG time re-doing the resonance puzzles over,etc etc...got to the point to cross the bridge and this time all three codes worked and allowed me to get into the tower. FINALLY. DOn't know what I was doing wrong.
