KING Art and Nordic Games proudly present the first chapter – The Eye of the Sphinx - on PC, MAC and LinuxYou can view screens here. You can view the game website and order here DRM free also. Vienna, AUSTRIA (July 23rd 2013) – KING Art’s and Nordic Games’ point and click adventure, The Raven - Legacy of a Master Thief, is now available to download via various digital distribution platforms for PC, Mac and Linux and will be available via the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade later this summer. The first chapter The Eye of the Sphinx is now available via digital download on Steam ( http://store.steampowered.com/app/233370/), or in the Nordic Games shop as a Standard Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition. The beautifully animated first chapter, The Eye of the Sphinx, can be purchased today with a season pass and a release discount of 10% for just EUR/USD 22,49; £16.79 (Standard Edition, regular price: EUR/USD 24,99; £20.99) and EUR/USD 26,99; £22.49 (Digital Deluxe Edition, regular price: EUR/USD 29,99; £24.99). This pass will also give access to chapters 2 and 3 as they become available on August 27th and September 24th respectively. Set across 1960’s Europe, The Raven combines the thrill of the chase ‘whodunit’ with the risk and reward of a heist story where players get to experience both sides of the story as the investigator and the thief. Paying tribute to Agatha Christie’s crime stories and gangster movies from the 60s and 70s, The Raven is set to be a thrilling episodic journey. “The reaction to The Raven so far has been extremely positive so we’re excited to finally get the game out to the community,” said Martin Kreuch, Producer at Nordic Games. “The episodic format should create an immersive experience that allows players to experience cliff hangers like you would when watching a TV series, which is rarely seen in video games. KING Art has done a tremendous job adding those moments and we’re keen to see how the community reacts to it.” “Over the past 2 years we’ve worked tirelessly to produce a game of genuine quality that not only comes up with an incredibly dense atmosphere and a truly enthralling soundtrack but also provides a rich story full of twists that will leave players with their eyes and mouth open,” said Jan Theysen, Creative Director at KING Art. “We’re extremely proud of the game and a lot of work has gone into enticing people back to the adventure genre and the story has been key factor in making this happen.” The daring hunt across Europe is a story that features more camera shots and character animation than all of KING Art’s previous point and click adventures put together. Journeying through thrilling and dense atmospheres with the aim of catching the thief players will follow his trademark black feather clues to capture him and protect the legendary sapphire, the "Eye of the Sphinx". To learn about the back story to The Raven, there is a free Interactive Graphic Novel available to play where players can learn about the bitter rivalry between The Raven and Legrand. • To begin the story simply click here for the browser version: http://www.raven-game.com/ign-en/• If you are on the move, get the Android App on Google™ play: Google Play OR • the iOS App on iTunes: Itunes Happy Gaming! I downloaded the raven from GamersGate. Download went perfect. Nothing to do with Steam. Richard

Thanks, Ana I bought this game from Amazon, but the download is done by Steam via a product key. I have no problem with that since I' have a Steam account. The download went smoothly, as did the install, and now I'm playing the game. Great graphics. I joined this thread to make my (usual) request for a WT from Mag, but he beat me to it. It's already posted. Thanks so much, MAG Sandy

I'm having trouble with my order. I ordered the DRM free version through Nordic Games Shop. However, the only download they sent me was some JPEG image. I sent them a message, so hopefully they'll respond to me. I'm not having the best luck with ordering games lately. First I can't order The Walking Dead 400 Days because I "only" have the disk version, and now this. At least Face Noir downloaded without issue.

Is anyone else here having the problem of having purchased the game from Nordic Games and only receiving a JPEG image as a download? I wrote an e-mail to the company, but so far, all I've gotten back was an automated response that didn't help at all. I don't want to, but I may have to request a return if I don't receive the actual game.

Well, everyone here is having much better luck than I am. I've contacted customer service for Nordic Games three times, and was sent the same unhelpful automated response every time. No amount of turning off antivirus/firewall or using different browsers are going to help if the only file they sent me to begin with was a JPEG image. And I know for a fact it's only an image because it's listed that way even before I click on the download link. Unfortunately, I will not be ordering from this company again, and I've requested a return. I think I'm just going to stick it out until the full game is released on GOG. At least that way I'll be able to play it all the way through at once.

venus, That is just nuts. Having nothing but an automated reponse come back from "customer service" is something I'd expect from the government or AT&T, but from a game site? What a bummer. And how in the heck did they screw up their download so badly that you got a jpeg at all? I don't blame you for being . Here's luck in getting your refund instead of another jpeg. Gil.

Venus, I sent my contact at Nordic a message for help for you. Hopefully it will help you. I believe it may be your Internet provider or settings stripping the link from your email. Ana

Thanks, traveler! I still haven't gotten a response on the return request, so not sure what's going on there. I'm sticking to GOG from now on, that's for sure. Thanks, Ana! I'm not so sure it's my internet, though. As I said, the download is listed as a JPEG before I even click on anything. If it is, though, a workaround would certainly make me happy.

Okay.....I downloaded the Raven and have played it for about an hour now. Is it just me.....or is this game boring?? Does it get better? I don't usually pay $25 for a game but the screenshots and reviews looked good. Please tell me it gets better!

Hi UruKat, It's subjective. I finished playing a couple of days ago. The story grabbed me, and a few dramatic events do take place on the train and at the next location, but the gameplay itself is fairly laidback. There's no real sense of urgency, except the fascination in seeing what happens next. It's only the first part of a three-episode series, though -- and this episode ends on a humongous cliffhanger!

I didn't realize it was only the first episode. Guess I should have done a little more research before buying it. I hope the price includes the other episodes.....no way will I pay $25 for each one. The game runs with a lag on my machine as well. It's probably because my laptop isn't new enough, but at least it does run it. Thanks Rushes!

From Ana's first post: The beautifully animated first chapter, The Eye of the Sphinx, can be purchased today with a season pass and a release discount of 10% for just EUR/USD 22,49; £16.79 (Standard Edition, regular price: EUR/USD 24,99; £20.99) and EUR/USD 26,99; £22.49 (Digital Deluxe Edition, regular price: EUR/USD 29,99; £24.99). This pass will also give access to chapters 2 and 3 as they become available on August 27th and September 24th respectively. Did you try turning down the graphics quality to Low in your Options menu? I had the same problem with lag, but that fixed it.
