I just got a reply from The Adventure Shop. They said to click on the new patch and then chapter 3 will be available. When I did this for the first time, it crashed. So I uninstalled the game, re-installed it, and then the patch worked. Chapter 3 then became available. Good luck!! FJT

I confirm you that the problem is from their master and not from Adventure shop.

Here is the answer form Nordic Games :

As a first workaround we have positive feedback on the following 2 options:

1. The download problem may be caused by outdated root certificates. The certificates can be updated with the tool „rootsupd.exe“. The update can be found at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931125.

2. A quick and dirty solution: with many users it helped to de-install and re-install the game completely.

Please note this is a workaround and we are working on a more comfortable solution that everything is working fine for all users.
