I'm stuck on the Meletiles Heart quest. Is there a trick to defeating the respawning wraiths? I can kill up to 5 if I'm lucky but haven't been able to get beyond this. I was able to kill the wraiths in the asylum quest but there were never more than 2 at time. I've put oil on my silver sword and I've downed Tawny Owl, Swallow, and one other potion in advance of the fight. I've used Quen and Yrden and Igni but that doesn't help much. Also I don't know how to drink a potion in the middle of combat. I know that there are many Witcher fans so I'm hoping someone will have witcher secret.

I don't think you can drink potions in the middle of combat in Witcher 2. As I remember one of the devs. from CD RED said they wanted to focus more on the player's preparation before battle....

As I haven't played Witcher 2, I hope you get help with your quest troubles.

I haven't gotten that far yet - I'm still battling the Kraken. But, as Karsten says, you can't drink potions in the middle of battle. Sorry I can't help you - YET! I'm just hoping for enough time to get back into the game.

Thanks to both of you. I still haven't been able to kill the wraiths. And the kayran ... haven't been able to kill him either. Hope these aren't game enders and I'm just in ch.1. I'm also playing on easy level. I'm a very pathetic witcher.

That's it... the Kayran. You can tell it's been last spring since I've had enough time to play!

Rowan, I'm sorry you are still stuck. I haven't played this yet. I do know that in Witcher 1 there were some fights I had to do by getting myself between two buildings so they could only come at me 1 at time. Is there something you could use for cover? Or can you kill one, run off, heal, come back and rinse and repeat? Or do these guys respawn?

Looney, I'm still a very dead witcher. I tried running, leaving the area to heal, but that doesn't work. Once you leave the area the sorceress that is supposed to lift the curse quits and you have to start all over. The wraiths respawn right after you kill them and keep respawning until the witch finishes her mumbo jumbo to lift the curse on the amulet. And she is taking her sweet time doing it. I'm still hoping a witcher2 survivor has a secret tactic that would get me past this.

I hate fights like that. If I kill something, it needs to stay dead!

That's a side quest that I never did do. Mainly because I never did find it. Anyway here's a youtube walkthrough that may or may not show you.

It appears fairly easy in this walkthrough but what appears easy to others is usually difficult to me.

I've finally beaten the kayran...don't know how I managed...but I did!

Still haven't beaten the wraiths for Metiles Heart. I'll keep trying but it's frustrating.

Go to youtube The Wraith problem in hospital In the Claws of madness. If this is the part it shows many traps that G. has set and 2 wraiths getting caught in them. And dying? Let's hope so. I know nothing about these gamaes

A new dilemma: How do you "set" the harpy traps for the harpy contract quest? Do I just "drop" them from my inventory? I've tried that but don't see a harpy come to pick it up. Or do I use it from the quick slot? I've tried that but only succeed in activating a sign. Nothing happens with the trap.

This is another one that I didn't do because I didn't want to mess with it. However, it appears that all you have to do is put the trap on the ground near some harpies and wait for one to fly off with it. It shows it in This video . Hope this helps.
