I loaded Scratches on my Win 7 and followed the directions on Drac's Games on Win 7. Every time I go to save the file, access is denied.

Anyone help?

Hmmm... I didn't have any problems like that at all. I installed in the default Program Files directory too.

Maybe try uninstalling the game and this time when installing, direct it to your Documents file which is not finicky about access.

Strange that this game works perfectly in Windows 8 with no tweaking at all.

If it's the original DVD version, it needs a patch.
Download versions are already patched.

Okay, that may be my problem Jenny. It is the original DVD version. I'll try that.

Thank God for Windows Restore. I thought I was downloading the patch for Scratches. Ended up with something else, deleted it, ran a malware scan, deleted 123 files and it screwed up my internet royally. Did a system restore and I'm back to 10/32/13. What is a good site to download the patch for Scratches. Gotta put it back on again also.

That's why I don't download from CNet anymore.
They put garbage in their downloads.

I totally agree about CNet... they have become a delivery vehicle for garbage on your computer. And forget about reading reviews there. They are rife with fake reviews.

Finally got the game working. Did loose sound, got out of it and went back in. Sound back on. Didn't play any more thought. Had to transfer it to My Documents. It is a spooky game, especially with a headset.
