I have recently purchased an HP Tablet and I am getting used to using the touch screen to find my way around Windows 8(1).

I have downloaded one of my Bigfish Games (Azada Elementa) and I am trying to begin it.

The problem I am having is that when the game loads, the box appears in the middle of the screen asking me to insert my name. The Tablet has a virtual keyboard and, once the game and the 'name' box appear onscreen I can find no way of bringing up the virtual keyboard to use to type my name.

If I bring up the keyboard first it is hidden totally when the game is launched. If I launch the game, there is no way that I can see to bring up the keyboard. A Catch22 situation.

Would any of you brilliant Gameboomers out there be able to provide me with a solution?

Thanks in anticipation! thumbsup wave

What happens if you touch (or "double touch") the box?
That's what Microsoft suggests here
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/using-touch-keyboard
Quote:
To use the touch keyboard, tap the screen in a place where text can be entered and the keyboard should appear.

Does the keyboard pop up then?

If not, and no one else has an answer, you may have to contact Big Fish.

Thanks Jenny but no luck with that. I have contacted BFG and will let you know the outcome as it may help others with a similar problem. thumbsup

Normally that's the way it's done - you tap the entry box, and the keyboard is displayed.

That's the way it works for me... tap in the entry box and the on-screen keyboard appears.

Doesn't the game open up on the desktop side of Windows 8.1? If so, can you set it to windowed mode? That way the taskbar is available... on my Surface, the keyboard is down on the lower right in the taskbar.

Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.
