Hi, all! Long time, no see! grin

I've been having computer woes on and off for the past few months, but it's finally getting squared away.

How have you all been?

I was wondering what your favorite HOPA developers and/or games were?

Artifex Mundi is my favorite developer so far. I already know of Boomzap (Awakening and Otherworld series), who I'm fond of.

I saw the Bloody Mary Grim Tales on BFG by Elephant Games, so I might have to try that series. Is that their main series, or are there other games by them that are excellent?

I thought of trying the third Dark Parables, as I've heard that series is good and is really polished starting with the third--I think that's Blue Tea Games? Not sure what other games by them are good, or if DP is their main attraction.

Other than that, I'm in the dark!

P.S. I recently saw a bundle at Walmart that was a 5 or 6 pack of Artifex Mundi's best games, such as Enigmatis, Nightmare from the Deep, 9 Clues, Dark Arcana and etc. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble linking to the exact bundle online, but I know it was a small CD case, not a huge one like Nancy Drew comes in. I think it might of had a magnifying glass in the upper left corner? If anyone can find it, please let me know! smile

Elephant Games has several different series, Grim Tales being one of them (all of them are fun and entertaining). One of their other series that I recommend is the Mystery Trackers series. wave

Frogwares would be my favorite casual developer overall.
Two of my favorite casual games, both by Frogwares, were

Sherlock Holmes: Hound of the Baskervilles
and
Dracula: Love Kills
(the Dracula game being a sort of spoof)

Also by Frogwares,
Journey: The Heart of Gaia
was fun, though I liked the Sherlock and Dracula games better.

I liked the above better than the other casuals they made, which were

Sherlock Holmes: The Mystery of the Persian Carpet
Department 42: The Mystery of the Nine

I'm not sure if Frogwares is maintaining their casual division any more though (once called Waterlily games).
For a while they had this "Coming Soon" website for their casual division
***Web Archive Link for Waterlily Games***
The current content at the waterlilygames.com website has nothing to do with games though -- so if they make any more casuals, they will probably not be under the Waterlily name.

+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+

Some of Big Fish's in-house casual games were good, like
Azada, the Drawn series, and some of the ***MCF (Mystery Case Files) games*** (MCF Ravenhearst and later -- except for Shadow Lake which was bad) and ***Hidden Expedition*** games.
However they seem to have reduced their in-house development business, and the Azada series is no longer made by Big Fish and no longer what it once was.
