I just finished tonite. It played like a three or four hour movie. They did a wonderful job on this new addition to the Tex series. I have to replay it and try for one of the other endings. I'm told there are 7 of them!

Glad you enjoyed it, Melia! Hope you got a good ending.
How would you rate the game's difficulty level?

There are parts that are difficult, but there's a built-in hint system, and the puzzles can be bypassed if you want. If you pick the casual player mode, it's moderate to easy. I picked that one. I'm sure the expert P.I. mode is very difficult, because there were some things i couldn't figure out no matter what.

That sounds pretty good. It's an oft repeated rant of many, but I do wish more developers would include a bypass for puzzles, particularly those of the timed/arcade variety. This game seems to take it all into consideration.

One thing I don't like about the save system when you save and load a save you don't know where you might end up at. Richard

there is a locked room in tex's office which is opened once you collect all 20 comic books or have reached top PI status. the save file appears in your folder as save 13 storeroom.

I couldn't stop smiling when I started to play. There was Tex's old office, almost as I remembered it, and outside there was the Hotel, the Laundry, the Electronics shop, Rooks Pawnshop, and best of all Louie's Coffee Shop. No Chelsee yet, but she's been mentioned and there's a mystery there. This is Tex Murphy Heaven!

Yes on many levels the game is brilliant laced with total frustration as well. I had to force myself to finish and when I reached the end my reaction was, "Glad that's over." That laser puzzle was not too bad except once you opened the next room and saved the game once you restarted the save threw you back and you had to fight with the lasers again. Ok so at that point I pushed myself forward to run into yet another pain in the neck maze. For me there were more than too many mazes. I soldiered on to force myself to run endlessly from one darkened room to another dodging blue fireballs, exploding insects and land mines. By that time I did not care anymore but this close I had to see the ending. I should have stopped right there because the ending totally blew. I've seen two different versions on the net and if there are seven as suggested I can only hope at least one of them is better than the lame versions I saw. No I won't be playing again to find yet another ending the labor of maze after maze is simply too much to bare.

Im loving this game. Im playing in gamer mode and only on day 2 but I really only play in the evening when I know I wont be bothered and that seems to be when I have the most time. If you play in casual mode you will get hot spots, hints, and be able to bypass puzzles, not the way I choose to play but its nice for people to have that option. I certainly hope there will be another Tex to follow.

This does not sound good. :( And apparently you can't trust the save system to save after you finally complete difficult arcade stuff.

I don't think people should decide whether to play this game or not by what others feel about it. Play and judge for yourself. You might be pleasantly surprised

I enjoyed the game, got Taylor ending.
About the puzzles I think than themselves are good but with bad or rushed explanation before them, he says - now I have to ........ and that's it, also in the last one you could not go back (unless you loaded a past save) to see the card that had the clues.I would have not been able to play in gamers mode mainly because at least for a couple of puzzles I needed a hint to tell me what the puzzle was asking me to do.
Graphics are very good, for me this is important.
I plan to play again in a different path after I finish MM2, which I should start today.
