I cannot get the game to run. It says CPAL3D Nvidia Physx Library not found or inactive. Does anyone know what this means? My drivers are up to date and I never have trouble with any other game. I tried to contact Steam, but it doesn't have the right things in their list and nothing on the game. So I cannot ask them. Thanks. Vicki

It sounds like you need to install the PhysX drivers - you can get them ** Here **

Edit - and then again, maybe not CPAL3d is another technology, which should have been installed with the game. Are you trying to play this on a laptop?

It's the game engine used by Memento Mori 1 and 2.

I finally went into registry and deleted all the physx since nothing else would do it. I took a chance. I re-installed and it worked. So whatever I did was ok. Thanks for your help. Vicki

It sounds like the game is using an old version of PhysX.

Did you use something like ccleaner to delete the entries, or did you use regedit?

Same problem - error here. Still can't get it to work.

Assuming the problem is caused by having a newer version of PhysX
installed than what the game uses, try either

uninstalling PhysX through (Add/Remove) Programs and running a
registry cleaner (like ccleaner's registry cleaner)

or try REVO Uninstaller, which apparently does a better job than
(Add/Remove) Programs.

Then reinstall the game using the version of PhysX that the
game wants.

Did that didn't work the first few times.
Did 3 installations/removals of PhysX and uninstall reinstall of the game.
Then did a hard boot.
That did it. I will start tonight after cooking dinner.

Sounds like you might need the boot after reinstalling PhysX,
possibly after reinstalling the game.

PhysX is a set of device drivers, so I suppose it's make sense you'd have to boot (although video drivers no longer require it).

I am having the same trouble with Memento Mori 2. Getting a CPAL3D error. I bought the game on Steam. I have deleted and reinstalled. It crashes not far into the game, when he leave the hotel, after finding the maid's ID, and his phone rings in the parking lot. Just as he starts to talk the error sign comes up. Is there anyway to fix this?
