Yes, keyboard is needed for motion, just like the other games of the series... The mouse is actually a lot more responsive this time, cause one can fully control the point of view.

I don't think people should decide whether to play this game or not by what others feel about it.
Play and judge for yourself. You might be pleasantly surprised :)" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I agree. That is why I try to avoid opinion in reviews I write. However, when faced with issues such as the game placing you in front of a puzzle when you clearly saved after solving it that's a problem. Considering the game played through without any mechanical issues I submit this was a very irritating glitch. After spending considerable time trying to get through that I saved when finally successful. Then went back to the save a half hour after taking a brake I found the save though clearly listed in the save file brought me to the beginning. Extremely angry I vowed to nuke the game if I had to spend any time to get through it again. Well I got through it only to enter the next room and made a save. Fortunately I went ahead making a couple more saves. When I returned to the game the save made in the next room forced me to face the laser puzzle one more time. Having made saves further down the road I could avoid the problem this time. I get it they don't want you to save part way through the puzzle but this is beyond irritating. Mazes I can deal with though lets face it they are there to lengthen the game. You can't call them real puzzles. Somewhere along the way that stupid spider maze maxed the limit. I never want to hear anybody complain about April's endless running around in the Longest Journey again. The horrible endless back and forth in that dark maze of rooms with a flashlight, near the end of the game, made April's back and forth a walk in the park. I mean hidden traps you could barely see creating dozens of instant deaths, really? Oh what were those invisible flying insects that blew you up? Then the ending(s), I mean the Rick and Louie Casablanca ending ripoff, please at least they could of had the forethought to name the cop, Louie. Advice to developers, decide how you want your story to end and do it. Stop trying to be politically correct and please everybody. It does not work. I agree the game for the most part was great but they self destructed as the longer I played the more frustrated I became. After seeing more than one ending, none satisfying I no longer care what alternatives they offered. Good game? Yes, to a point. Great game? Far from it due to repeated mazes and clearly annoying forced deaths. At least if you wish to add danger for the character make it something realistic. Invisible insects, good grief. Or were they drones? [/quote]

Oldmariner, I agree with you, but you need to put quote after misslilo's text to separate it from your answer. Done, thanks Jenny. I did not notice that.

oldbroad,I believe it would be very rare that you could not finish the game. The problems described here I for one, am thankful to know that the game doesn't necessarily save where you try to save it (kjos had mentioned that earlier in the thread also, as well as oldmariner)and about the maze and "instant deaths". Knowing this, I'll either save my money OR buy the game knowing I may not be able to finish it. At least I'm making a more informed decision. are real but, they don't happen that often, after the maze ("by the way solvable by the old method of putting your hand on one wall and never take it out"), the save has to be done just a little after, not immediately. The puzzles can be skipped. All in all it is n ot a difficult game. It has some flaws but think most people enjoy it.

I don't remember there being the comics in previous games, although it was a very long time ago that I played them. Thank you for the welcome, Marian! I am loving finding all the comics. I can't wait to see what's in that locked storage room.

I just use the Manual AutoSave and I am taken back to the very spot I saved at.

Hi chrissie I've copied what you say and saved IT, thanks, but I guess the proof of the pudding will be in the eating, eh ?? I'm sure I'll understand - when I get to play the game myself and try saving and loading Mad

Well I really enjoyed the game. I had to do a second play through to get the ending I wanted. The game was so "Tex Murphyish" and just what one would expect. It continued so smoothly from the previous games and the controls are so much less cumbersome in this game. The way it ended left me hopeful that they may have another one planned. Probably depends on the game sales for this one. One can only hope.

I'm still stuck (the Tesla Legacy 2nd floor) but not frustrated! I don't want the game to end. I played the demo twice, which made that part so easy when I got to it in the game. I had to reset the gamma in the game to make it easier on the eyes, that way I could find those planks. The game plays smoothly, and I don't know how anyone can have problems with it. I think I'm sort of dreading the 'energy balls' and setting up the reactor and antennas (or whatever they are). I have been playing on GAMER and been killed so many times, but I expected that after Pandora and Overseer. Am I also being killed by the spiders? I hear some kind of rustling noise, then end up dead at times. Thank you!
Oh, about saves: If you manually save for a location (like in Sesen) you can TOTALLY FORGET being in that location after you get killed. I seem to be playing the 'DEATH EDITION,' Haha! So, as not to ruin anything, I wanted to be at a particular location (when I met my fate, as I knew I would) and saved quickly beforehand. Still, I ended up somewhere else when I reloaded, but I DID have everything in my inventory. Also, where I'm stuck currently, I saved when I got the coins in the lower level of the Legacy, but found them NOT in my inventory when I reloaded (again, after death).

Very interesting discoveries, BubbaJake. Hope you've progressed in the game. I've played it 3 times so far. Loved getting into the locked room - finally! I played for the Chelsee ending first and then the Taylor ending because I like her and feel she's a perfect partner for Tex. Sort of Nick and Nora style except Taylor is much more involved.

Also, I am working hard to sell this game on my channel. I encourage people to buy in every episode. I want this game to sell, sell, sell.

I am not sure if you Americans are familiar with the term, but in Australian "dunny" = "outhouse" Which is probably why the original pronunciation of D'Ni in the Myst games was changed in the later games.

WOW, I am sooooo thrilled about this game. I Kickstarted this one but so far I have not yet downloaded the game. I am in a "moment 22" about it. Why ? Well i really want to prolong the GREAT moment and really P L A Y IT without anything disturbing this loooong awayted GOLD COIN of a game. I've played all the earlier Tex games except the first two so far, not once but twice and I REALLY love them
