Tally Ho, I think you downloaded from a Russian site, though I'm not sure it will make any difference. Maybe a different site? There are six game saves on SaveGameServer for Chapter Six and I see that at least one of them is at the end of Chapter 5. You just have to register and log in to download any of their saves and it's free. Why not try that? Gil.

Traveller -
Thanks. That should have solved it, but it didn't. I was able to download the file from SGS, unzip and place it in the correct folder, and yes, it appears as a valid selection when I open the game and attempt to load a save.
Unfortunately, I still get the same message, that it was saved under a different version or interpreter, and cannot be loaded. Hmph.
++++++++++++++++++++++
Update:
I might be back in business. By using the .cat file from SGS and renaming an old saved game from another computer, I was able to make the game run and get back into the middle of chapter 5. Now if it gets past the point where it recently crashed, all is well. Time will tell . . .

Tally Ho, I would send a support ticket to GOG. Remember, they're in Poland and this is the weekend but I've heard that they've always been good about responding. If you're just over it completely, watch the ending in 123Pazu's perfect score playthrough on YouTube. You're not far from it. Gil. That URL takes you to part 54 but you stopped earlier, I think, so just back up one.

Hey, you're welcome, Doug, and look at it this way: you didn't have to tear your hair out going through that maze. Gil.

ROTFL. I deliberately avoided saying the "M" word; figuring my rant of last week left the forum resonating well enough. BTW, it was a delight watching our own 'private opera' thanks to Jane's ingenuity. What a production.

That "M" made the one in Shivers 1 look good!
Gardens put to bed. Time for more reading and gaming.
