Hey, Marian, I'm just curious.
I find it hard to believe that a long-time gamer like you has never played Sanitarium.
Are you just looking for a digital download to keep on your shelf that has probably been tweaked a bit?

Old as it is, this is a great, very weird game and definitely worth getting if anyone is on the fence about it.

I bought and played the game when it first came out. Now I think it would be nice to have a digital download as well, and particularly when some folks here about seven or eight years ago started reporting that the CD of their game had literally exploded (no, I am not making this up) in significantly faster CD-ROM drives than those available at the time of the game's release. Strange, but true.

I remember when I first played the game after having purchased it in a retail store; I was amazed by the diversity of the environments, wondering what was going to happen next and where the game was going to take me. Very atmospheric game, and very weird and creepy. I am looking forward to a replay.

Yep, their computers survived, but players' nerves were shot. Not fun taking all of the shattered pieces of CD out of their drives, either.

Thanks for the info, traveler. I picked up Back to the Future (which I already have on disk, but I couldn't resist the deal ) and Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Silver Earring (which I have not yet played ). Fantastic deals.

I just bought Moebius which I didn't want to pay full price for when it was released due due mixed reviews, but I will take a chance on it being fifteen dollars

I'm getting to like digital downloads better than physical copies as long as they're on my GOG shelf all neatly rowed up.
They don't gather dust and I can be sure they'll work ad infinitum on Win 7 without typing in codes.

My copy of Grim; a lovely big box of Dracula: Resurrection; a few Sherlock Holmes games (Rushes would never speak to me again if I tossed those); Paradise, which I sorta like even though it's awful, and the LHOD games that aren't available on GOG (which wouldn't send you spiders anyway) stay with me but the rest...foof.
It's sales like this that make my digital game shelf much bigger than the one my physical copies occupy.
It just got another one when I picked up Book of Unwritten Tales for a measly five bucks.

I hope the Darkside gamers are aware of the summer sale that's still going, if a bit toned down, because there are some really good deals there waiting for them.

That's a good price, but you might want to wait and see if it comes up as another one of those 2-hour flash deals. I don't remember exactly, but I think it was being sold for between two and three dollars last night. It's still a good discount, though, even if you don't catch that deal. Great deals are everywhere on GOG right now.

Yea, me three. I have already bought 15 games in this sale, some of which I have on disc but never played and fear the discs won't work (Broken Sword games). Reading Marian's post above about Sanitarium (played) made my rebuy that, although I've never actually replayed a game yet with so many unplayed ones to play. But wasn't it the Bad Mojo discs that were exploding? That's what I seem to remember.
