Give me a minute and I'll look Redcell. I remember looking forever for stuff in this game. Did you check to see if the pipeline is in the basement?
Sue
Edit: Go down the stairs, step over the body and look at the doors at the end of the hall marked GX25.........repaired pipeline is just to the right of it.

Joyous I don't remember this part really clearly. Can't you grab as much of the dry grass and sticks as you can in inventory and keep the fire going?

You should be able to take more than 1 handful of grass Joyous. Wasn't there a patch of dried grass in the tower? Will the game let you put extra grass in there on the ground? You are setting fire to the rope correct?

Yes, I was attempting to set fire to the rope and knew i was doing everything i could possibly do-the game engine just makes the mouse move so erratically i couldn't seem to do it! However, I tried a different tactic and went into the options menu and turned off the shadows, then tried again. It didn't make a miraculous difference, but did seem to make the mouse move a little smoother and the game move a fraction faster. After about 5 more tries, I finally succeeded in keeping the fire going and freeing the rope-thank goodness! Now, I just have to figure out why in the world I needed it in the first place! Thank you for your suggestions, they helped trigger my mind to think outside the box! Joyous
