The wt states:
Laboratory: Go back left and forward at the corner by the fertilizers.
See vines blocking the path. Use knife on dense vines.
Enter the main lab.

Then do things outside.
Go abck to the lab and pass the vines you removed earlier.
You will see 2 chests. The one on the left is the gold, the one on the right is the purple. luck

thanks Cathy.

Chapter VIII Help. I'm having trouble finding the "fishing equipment dynamite" so Jack can use it on the locked trapdoor. Is it hiding someplace? I've looked all over but can't seem to locate it.

I also have the frying pan bug. Would anybody be so kind as to shoot over an XP savegame?

Hi ya Shootist and welcome to GameBoomers

I'm sending the file now. If you don't get it in a reasonable length of time, let me know. My mail sometimes has a mind of it's own. luck

Hi folks,

I just discovered that I also have a glitchy copy---no frying pans in sight. I've followed all conversation threads with all of the characters and still no luck. Any chance of getting a copy of that save...PLEASE!?!

Thanks for the save---however, when I added it to my save directory and try to load it the timer bar is almost complete and the game goes belly up. I've tried changing the save name (time stamp) to both a current save and to a new most current save with the same result. I'm thinking that the glitch must prevent the game from reading a non-glitched save. I'm sending an email to the developers and let you know what they say.

I know this should be in the glitches forum, but since the original thread was here....

Jerry

btw- thanks to all on this forum and GB in general- for the most part I lurk, but I appreciate all the work you guys do!

Timer bar? This frying pan part does not have a timer. Did I send you the wrong save?

Thanks. Glad that you enjoyed the site. Look around at the other forums and see what they can add to your fun.

Sorry- I'm meant the load game timer. Not any actually in the game. From the snapshot in the load directory it is probably the right one, just didn't want to 'play nice' for me.

Thanks for your help and quick response.

Ah. You might want to reinstall the game if you are getting glitches. If you do - be sure that you keep all your saves safe. They are in My Documents.

Also - the file I sent you is zipped - be sure that you unzip it first before adding that file together with the other saved game.

Hi MaG

I am on the bottom of page 26 of your walkthrough.

Miss Gristle gets very upset and throws the bucket over the railing. You can see the bucket hit the gorilla and land on the floor. However, when Miss Gristle goes back down stairs the bucket disappears. I must have a copy with a glitch.

Corny

Corny,

I don't think it's a glitch. The bucket rolled to another screen.
I think bottom left if you are on the main floor.

Hi Corny
I was also stumped for a few minutes at this part. I saw the bucket drop into the library in back of the gorilla and couldn't find it when I went to get it.
If you are in the library - exit the library - the bucket will be at the bottom of the left stairs.
Hope this helps.

Not admitting defeat... is the beginning of the solution.

Hi all again,
re: frying pan issue-
I've uninstalled and reinstalled with no change. I can see the emailed save in my saves folder (file sizes are in line with other sizes) it just blows up when I try to use it. Has anyone been able to use a 'good' save to get past this? If so, then I know it's me/my system that has the problem. I have emailed 10tacle and am waiting to see what they say.

Thanks for all the help

Jerry

"blows up"? Are you using Vista?

Yes - those saves have been sent out to other gamers and have been successfully installed.
I will send you another one further down the game - see if that will install in your game.

Check your e-mail.

Yes I'm using Vista. The new save does the same thing. I just tried installing on a second system (also Vista) with the same results. I guess I'll have to wait until I hear something from either 10tacle or Strategy First (I couldn't figure out how to contact Deck 13). I am about to use the frying pan on myself lol

Ok MaG I saved the saved file to documents with the others, I had right clicked and extracted all, but the save still shows as a compressed zip file...???
I started the game wondering if it would show as a "load" option but it does'nt...what am I doing wrong?

Hi,
One thing that I discovered is that the saves are time stamped-so the emailed copy may not be the top save...the ones that MaG sent me were from April and went all the way to the #1,2 slots. Did you extract the files into the C/users/'computername'/Documents/Jack Keane/Saves folder? Computername is whatever your user account is called.
Good Luck!!!

Jerry

oh thanks...once I moved the files back out to extract and moved them back in...you're right the top file IS my original save. The Saved file sent is in a file folder...?? If I start a game how will this show up and load?

It DOES show up as an option to load AND the frying pan is nor there...Thank you!!!

Cheryl,

The one I sent you is made using Vista. The frying pan should be hanging on his backpack. Talk to Murphy first and he will give the go ahead to take a houshold item.
Then take the frying pan.

It was used by another Vista gamer and it worked for her. Please double check that it is the correct one that you loaded.
Scroll to beginning of the load screen - at the very bottom, it might be there.
