This is for those of you that played both games.

Since many of you have now completed Azada 2 , what are your thoughts on Azada 2 as a sequel to Azada 1? Was it everything you hoped it would be and more? Did it fall short? If so, how?

Just curious how you compare the two since one is a sequel to the other.

I loved it. I love that the storyline(s) were so rich as well as character interaction. The puzzles weren't too difficult and weren't too easy and were IMHO, well integrated into the stories. The use of classic stories was ingenious and kept me glued to the computer. The graphics were top notch as was the music. I think everything was definitely a few steps up from Azada 1.

I think that it was a great sequel to Azada 1 giving the player more of an adventure feel and less disconnected puzzles. It seems like a natural progression -- to flesh out the story and ensure that the puzzles actually relate to the plot.

What I did miss was being bombarded with minigames (I know a lot of folks didn't really enjoy that aspect of the first one). It is something that I loved about the first one and is the reason I bought it (someone had suggested it on another forum -- that if you liked Safecracker, then check out Azada since it was almost like Safecracker Lite).

I know some folks around the internet have complained that it was "too short" but with casual games, "short" is relative to the player since a lot of time can be spent thinking about your next move. They are slightly different from adventure games where there may be a lot of reading/dialogue so I always keep that in perspective when I play a casual game.

To sum things up: I didn't want the game to end. When I feel that way about a game, it means it's definitely two thumbs up. I can't wait for the 3rd installment.

I loved Azada 2 more hearts than Azada 1.

Azada 1 was much harder and had too many mini games for my brain.

I found the fairy tale stories in Azada 2 so much fun and finding what was needed in each story for me was the most fun. The mini games were the worst part in my opinion because I love interacting with the various objects in different rooms. bravo

Music usually gets on my nerves and I mute it in games. However in Azada 2 I loved the music in each chapter of the book as they varied.

Also Titus is a handsome face to look at. lol Anyone know if Emmanuel who I hear created the game really looks similar to this? Titus looks like he was modeled from a real man is why I am asking. think

The cool part each character was created with a personality. Some people complained because the puzzles were to easy, for me I loved the fact that the game creator put in some easy puzzles as well as medium puzzles.

I hated the writing dexterity because its hard to do with a mouse. Jeckyl and Hyde signature for instance was a nightmare. hardwall I also didn't like the way we found the suspect using the machine. Finding the differences with different lens was fun, but arranging the icons in the boxes, guess I didn't understand what they wanted and always skipped it.

Thank you so much Emmanuel and BFG Guy for giving us the choice of playing without a timer.
hearts

This made the game so much more enjoyable and less stressful which equals more fun. I have enough stress in life without adding to it in my recreational time. Big kudos to all who follow this example. Some people want the added stress, but I am one of those that begged you to give us an optional timer.

The graphics are beautiful. Another bonus the game is replayable. What more can a person ask for? Please hurry with Azada 3 and keep the stories coming. I will be one of the first to buy the new Azada 3.

Sherryah

EDIT.........................
Went back to play Azada 1 again and remembered why I never finished the game shame it is because of the timer! Now if we could just get Emmanuel and BFG Guy to kill this timer also and make it an option, smashpc I and others who can't take the pressure can say we won the game. yes

When I played Azada 1 I remember wishing there were more rooms with interactive objects so Azada 2 answered my wishes. I think the puzzles are fine, not too hard and with the orbs there is the possibility to bypass, specially the first time around. I will replay both games many times and thank the developers for a spectacular set of games. The series can go on forever IMHO. The art work was breathtaking and first quality.

I haven't finished Azada 2 yet, but I liked the puzzles in Azada better. They were more interesting and challenging. I was expecting more of the same and was surprised that the second game is nothing like the first. I am enjoying it for what it is, though.

I agree with Pokey.
I enjoyed playing Azada 2, with the timer, but found it not challenging enough for me. It was way too easy and therefore a short game.

I much preferred Azada 2 ... never did finish Azada 1 because I couldn't get past that robot minigame. Azada 2 is definitely easier, and the story line very enjoyable

I finally finished it after restarting a couple times until I was able to save enough orbs to get through the three puzzles I knew I couldn't/wouldn't do. Did anyone ever complete the last puzzle (joining the pipes in geni book) on their own? It was too much for me, so I knew I had to have an orb saved until then.

Never did play in relaxed mood because I liked the opportunity to try again and thought I'd be stuck in relaxed mode forever and ever

Great game - when can we expect Azada 3?

menahune, I was lucky. I didn't use any orbs, but I did have hubby do the gear and the spin puzzles for me.

I never finished Azada either, mainly because of the timer. I had a blast with Azada 2 wave

I liked the first Azada better, despite the timer.
The first Azada was more of a puzzle game, while Azada 2 was more like a collection of mini-adventure games . I was looking forward to a puzzle game when I played Azada 2, because there are so few good ones with a variety of puzzles. There are plenty of decent adventure games -- at least compared to the number of puzzle games that offer puzzle variety.

I don't dislike Azada 2. I expect the adventure-game-like puzzles are a welcome change from HOG's or arcade games or matching games for casual game players. But I was looking forward to a puzzle game. If it was named something else without Azada in the title, I wouldn't have been disappointed.

I liked the music in the first game better too.

Jenny, that is exactly why I asked the question. I was wondering if I was the only one who thought that the game was excellent, but it was not "Azada". I was ready for mindbending fun and got a walk in the park instead. Mind you, I love walking in the park but I was dressed and ready for a battle of wits. lol

I do however think the game was outstanding and would definitely buy anything that follows, my only wish was that there was another Azada 2 coming that continues the puzzles heavy, headache inducing mind benders that filled the first one.

I was actually somewhat disappointed in Azada 2, I was expecting a more challenging game still along the lines of the original Azada. I do like the adventure type games, but the puzzles I found, were lacking. I was expecting something different in the puzzles, but what I got was the familiar games you find in LOBE, and in the game community. The only challenge was figuring out what to do next.

I'm sure a lot of the puzzles may be new to some people, which is fine, but for me they were all too familiar.

But I enjoyed playing the game none the less.

I am working on Azada 2 right now, although I am battling the cursor not the game. I really, really love this game. I loved the pages in Azada that were like that and wished that there were more of them, so this is exactly what I wanted. So I am really enjoying Azada two because of the type of game that it is. I loved Azada puzzles too, but hated the timer, I just felt pushed all the time. If they would get rid of the timer in that one too, I would love each of them for exactly the way they are.

For those of you that are also adventure gamers and preferred a more puzzle-oriented game (Azada 1), do you prefer challenging puzzles of the logic variety rather than inventory? I know for my adventure gaming, I much prefer logic and mechanical puzzles (think Myst-type puzzles) versus inventory.

For those of you that preferred the inventory puzzles in Azada 2, do you generally prefer those puzzles in adventure games?

Trying to see if there's a correlation here. smile

Koalanut: You'll find that Azada 1 goes a lot faster/easier the second time around. I think I have played it through 4 times now!

I like all kinds of puzzles misa, it really depends on what I am in the mood for. I play adventures of all kinds, FPS, RPG's...love them all depending on my mood.

I associate the game Azada with the puzzles, truthfully, the rest was unimportant when I played it. The game was largely associated wuth the mind bending puzzles. That is what I was expecting to find in Azada 2. I feel like a part was missing, I was psyched up to be challenged.

Oh I agree that I missed the mind bending puzzles too but I definitely did enjoy it for what it was. I loved it though!

As I stated, I truly enjoyed the game. In fact I considered it to be one of the best and most entertaining casual games I have played, I just didn't feel like it was "Azada".

I don't usually care for adventure games that have a lot of puzzles, though Myst is one of my favorites. I loved Azada. Some of the puzzles were easy but fun and then there were others that took a lot of thought and trial. Many of them were a kind I haven't seen before. The timer didn't bother me, even when I had to repeat some parts. The storybook adventure-puzzle game, Azada 2, was a bit of a disappointment to me. It is enjoyable, but I would like to see another game much like Azada 1.

Me too Ana, I wanted to have to ponder the puzzles. They were just too easy. As for the adventure game puzzles, I find inventory puzzles in adventure games very boring.

The Myst series, was the best for puzzle challenges.

To each his/her own, they say.

On with the Games!

You know, I was just thinking that the whole storyline from Azada 1 & 2 along with the classic storybook concept would make a GREAT full adventure game if you could actually be inside the books with the characters.

Hm... is Emmanuel reading this? I would love a full adventure game based on this. smile Wishful thinking, I know!

I liked both Azada games but I enjoyed Azada 2 more. The puzzles were not as challenging as Azada 1 but I liked the relaxed mode much better. I get really frustrated with timers. I love puzzle games so I'm not too fussy about which was the better game. puppy

I'm in the midst of playing Azada 2, and while I enjoy entering the books, which I agree, Misa, is a great concept, I'm largely disappointed in it. I generally loathe timers, but this game is not that difficult, so the timer is quite generous. The in between puzzles are not challenging. I'm with you, Ana. It just doesn't feel like "Azada."

JK, you do know that BF made a new release and you can turn the timer off, right?

Actually...I didn't know that, Ana. I downloaded the game onto my older Dell laptop the day it was released and then went away for the weekend. (My gaming HP laptop got the BSOD due to a graphics card issue and is in the hands of the Geek Squad...another story.) I had no internet contact while I was away. So far, the timer hasn't been an issue, but it's nice to know I can redownload without it when I get my HP back. Thank You!

When you uninstall and reinstall, you will not lose your current game, but it will still be timed. You can just start a new one that is untimed on a different profile and play under both.
