I couldn't agree more Mad.
They had no one to copy they blazed their own trail.
As i stated before, you know whats coming in the game
but there is always that puzzle or place you forgot.
I still buy games, but i too am much pickyer [is that a word?] .
As i get older i seek games that have less talking.

Hi ron.etti smile

I have so many lovely old games that remembering everything about every one of them on a re-play is practically impossible - in fact I can still get stuck many a time !! lol

I DO buy lots of new releases too though - especially from independant developers - because they could be our "trail blazers" of tomorrow bravo

Cheers.

I would love a list of really good old games. Is there a place to find one?

I don't know of a list but if anyones does it will be the moderators.
My list is as follows, Broken Sword I&II, Mummy, Frankenstine, Amerzone, Riddle of the Sphinx, Gabriel Knight I&II, Byzantine, Myst, Timescape, Messenger, Egypt tomb of the Pharoh, Traitors Gate I and the Cameron Files I&II.
There are many others, don't ever forget the Syberias I&II (not so old but great replays). These I have gotten to play on XP.

Mad, I see you have KQ 4-7 on your list. Did you ever check out those free remakes of KQ 1&2? They added voice and music and expanded the games to make them longer than the originals and they are much better.

Hi oldmariner smile

Yes. I played the re-makes.
I play all old games that get a makeover or a re-release or whatever - whenever I hear about them.

I'm very definitely an "old game" addict .... or even an old "game addict" !! rotfl

Cheers.

I play a few of my older games. I have so many HOG games, that they get boring after awhile, because you remember where MOST of the stuff is already.

I'm still waiting to get the continuation of some of these "to be continued" games. Some of them are HOGs, but others aren't. I wonder when they will come out with them.

I managed to pick up Kings Quest collection, 7 complete games that run on XP. I also Curse of Monkey Island, but always looking for older games I can get to run on XP. I have been thinking about having my computer guy build me a 98 SE, for the really old games.

Like Mad, I never turn down older gmes if I get a chance.

I too have old machines on which I play my old games but I'm always on the look-out for "installers/patches/whatevers" that will allow me to run them on my XP machine - or "remakes" for XP - as there will no doubt come a day when my old machines break and parts to fix them are no longer available scared scared scared

A huge chunk of my game collection consists of old games happydance
