Sure they can. Just release both versions like a darkside game would.

Plain and simple....the developers deserve to have a few weeks to earn some extra money. DarkSide games are 50 dollars and the CE's can be upwards of 100. I think waiting 3 weeks to buy a game at 6.99 is a steal.

But - if you (shh!) buy the CE; there is a built-in strategy guide!

According to the BFG forum, the Strategy Guide is absolutely useless, TH

I have looked at the strategy guide three or four times so far with this game and have had no trouble locating the information/help that I needed. The game is not entirely linear so any guide or walkthrough for the game is not necessarily going to show you what to do in the exact same steps that the player has taken, but all of the information needed is certainly there. wave

Just finished the game, including the extra (not the music part). It was terrific.

I too just finished the game and it was fantastic.
I used the stragedy guide several times and found it to be easy to follow and very helpful. I love the convenience of having the guide right there inside the game, instead of having to check a walkthrough. I thought the bonus game was of a reasonable length. Well worth the money!!!

Bravo Great Fun!Finished the Game! This game has gorgeous Graphics, interesting storyline, characters, Great voices. The one change could have been the Fortune Tellers voice needed to sound more mystical but she is the only exception otherwise everyone had a great voice fitting the character played. Bravo!

The game is so much more fun and interesting when I don't have to try and imagine how a characters voice sounds. Thank you to this great game company that has fast refill for skips, and hints. Every puzzle can be skipped. Now if I would have changed anything in the game it would have been more variety in mini games, this lining up the colors I nearly always skipped.

The Bonus game was really worth the price of the CE nice long bonus game with new places to explore at least longer than normal for a bonus game. I loved Sherlock Holmes CE and also 13 Skulls CE plus I loved Dire, so I don't know which I would say is better.

I had no glitches in the entire game, no problem downloading or starting. I am sorry the game is over. The one thing I really liked with Sherlock Holmes mystery of Baskerville hounds is the achievement awards I miss the excitement of trying to get more achievement trophies. This game I loved pulling open drawers, and unexpected interaction with objects. The journal is done excellent, the guide stays open to the place you leave it. So I rate this game a A- only because I didn't enjoy most of the mini games but quick Skip came to the rescue. Highly recommend this game and looking forward to more games like this I love the interactive parts the best.

What an excellent review, Sherryah - and so glad you enjoyed it.

We read so many different reactions to each game, but we have to also appreciate that we all have different tastes when playing these games. But it sure sounds like my kind of game bravo

I agree with Sherryah. Great game.

The fortune-tellers voice? Yuck. It makes me think they had no voice actors available, so they looked out the studio window and grabbed the first person they saw. "Get in here - we need a voice. Doesn't matter what you sound like."

Oh - and when she talks about the title animal, she pronounces it 'woof.' Egad!

(I, of course, liked the mini games. Had to skip one, though - couldn't solve it even with help!!)

Thank you for that well-thought-out review, Sherryah. smile

I just reached the bonus game and I'm enjoying the game very much. One of the things that I really enjoy about this game is that the use of inventory items is logical and not contrived or obscure. I appreciate the fact that when an inventory item *should* work on a particular item, it generally does! The game provides a nice level of challenge without getting frustrating.

Here's a small sneak preview of another ERS Studios game in the works:

If you only need one more punch to fill a punchcard this month, remember that CEs are worth three punches, so you would be "throwing away" two punches if you were to buy the game in January rather than waiting until it's February. smile

I have tried forever and cannot find the wheel for the barge, or the 3 numbers to open a puzzle.I have used everything in my inventory. Now I'm wandering back & forth. also, is there something in that sewer where the paper is covering it. It looks like a red ribbon or....... I don't know. thanks in advance for any help.

The strategy guide shows up when you are within the game itself. It is in the lower-lefthand corner underneath where it says "menu." wave

Thanks,I'm debating on wether or not to get the ce of this game. I tried the hour and liked it so far. My husband pays the bill, and I pay him for all the games I order. What should I do? I really am interested in this game. How long is the game?

Well, how long the game takes to play and finish will vary, depending on the player, of course. I would say that it took me about 5 hours to play the main game and about an hour for the bonus gameplay. smile
