I am stuck at the end of the Salumun Bridge mission. The walkthrough I am using said I should meet with Garza after all the enemy is killed and a "cut scene" will trigger that leaves me in front ot a new building. THIS ISN'T HAPPENING! No cut scene - no advancing to the new building which is Radec's Academy. I've done the bridge battle over at least three times and still can't seem to trigger a cut scene. Any ideas on how to proceed further.

jim, I haven't played, but I hope some of our veterans will be here to help shortly.

EDIT: Does this help?

Thanks Ana.

Did that help Jim?

I checked it out and like the other walkthroughs from IGN and mahalo it says to meet Garza at the end of the convoy after all of the enemy has been eliminated and a cut scene will take place that puts me in front of another building where I have to shoot an enemy symbol to enter. For some reason I cannot trigger the cut scene after meeting Garza and as a result cannot proceed any further. It is very frustrating as I have redone the bridge battle at least four times with the same lack of success at the end. I must not be doing something right and could sure use some help getting past this stage.

OK, I have just replayed this bridge thing on easy. There are 3 intense shooter battles for S. Bridg where the strategy is to secure the machine guns. At the end of last battle the tank shoots the wall to the last half of bridge. Garza calls Sev over here and both jump in a jeep. Then a cut scene. The driver (G), wow can he drive - Sev calls to Stop and they pick up a piece of petrucite and G says we give this to Evelyn. Cutscene ends. And then they are out of jeep and in front of Radec's headquarters, that's the building and Rico calls let's go sightseeing and you see the gun Sev holds and proceed up the stairs and directly into the building. No cut scene here. And it's an ambush.
Just prior to 3rd S Bridge battle G opens a door for Sev but there is no cut scene here.
The place where they shoot an emblem is in the start of the game and Sev has to find an RPG to do it.
I hope this solves the impasse.

well I tried again for the fifth time with the same result. At the end of the battle the tank does NOT shoot the wall to the last half of the bridge. also Garza does NOT call Sev (me) over to jump in the jeep with him. thus NO CUT SCENE! What is wrong.

You have killed all the helghast - and scene switches to tank - hit the up arrow, left hand, and direction is that up and down with the number inside thing and G. is crouching behind a barracade and he says over here sev. At ths point I run over to him and nothing happens so I always meander a bit and G says we have wheels and still nothing happens - then G. says get down S. and suddenly the tank shoots the wall. Then the jeep part occurs.
It could be that part where S. lightfoots around G. is buggy alhtough if it is, it's the only bug place. Could you play it again and when you get to this point keep running around G. and see if that does it.
Let's hope this works because this game is an intense shooter right to the end.
mcc has played this maybe she/he knows

I think I may have to give up on this game. Once again The enemy has been defeated and Sev approaches Garza near the barricade. Garza never says "over here Sev". I then meander around him for more than twenty minutes and Garza never says "we have wheels". still nothing happens. Garza never says "get down Sev" and of course the tank never shoots the wall and the jeep part never occurs. Garza does speak on occasion but not with any of the phrases shown above.

Oh Jim that's a shame - you've worked hard on this. Maybe the killzone homesite could offer something - like a new KZ2 game Free? There is a hesitation in my game when G is behind the barracade but it does continue .
A thought - what console is this on. I have PS. Maybe there is a problem on box or PC
KZ3 playwise is good but is short, easier and many cut scenes. A newer game and is flashey, which is a plus but not as much shooting. I like shooting.

I tried the game again for the sixth time with the same result. Nothing! Killzone 2 is only available on Sony PS3. I tried to reach the developer, Guerilla Games, on the internet, but for some reason their web site wouldn't accept my e-mail address so I couldn't sign in and use their forum. I appreciate all the help but it looks like there is a bug or something afoot.

Awww Jim, how disappointing!

Did you try the fix posted in answer to your question on the Playstation Community website?

That's right about PS3 and game - I wasn't thinking. Maybe we ought to wake up mcc because I know she/he has played KZ2 and is most knowedgable - don't delete it!!! - keep it in limbo. Surely someone else here has played this game.
L4L - is that fix through PSN? I must get son #1 to come over and get PS online but he knows I have a list of things to do here so..hehaheha

Do you pick out the file that pertains to that particular part and delete that. Use the data page, not the delete save game page. That way you start over like you never played Saluman Bridge befor without losing any saved games.
Maybe someone on the glitches and bugs forum would know.

You know, I like this game so much it hurts when someone has big problems with it.

I don't think it's really possible to browse individual files like that (other than savegames) on the PS3. Game data appears grouped by title, as one large "file" or package each. They're recommending deleting all the installed data, like so:
Under the Game tab of the XMB (main PS3 interface), scroll up/down to Game Data Utility, select it, find Killzone 2, hit Triangle, select Delete, and confirm. (That's from memory, so I hope that's right. Fingers crossed!*) As Yankee points out, be absolutely sure you're in the Game Data folder, not your saves, before you trash anything.
Anywhoo, this'll delete your KZ2 game data, prompting the game to re-install it the next time you pop the disc in. So if anything's corrupted there, that'll solve that.

*EDIT: Yep. Booted up and double-checked. Obsessively managing my console hard-drive paid off. lol

As indicated, I deleted the "Game Data Utility". However, in order to play the game from that point on, you are required to again sign in and use the latest data for this software. This updates the software to the latest version (1.29). I did this and replayed the final bridge battle for the umpteenth time with the same result as before. NOTHING HAPPENS! No messages from Garza. No tank blast on the far wall. I'm wondering if the problem may be in the 1.29 software update and how to avoid it if possible.

Feeb has been more help than the producers have for you. I don't know about the technical aspect of this. Let's hope she/he reads your last post.
I've played KZ2 5/6 times and it's run flawlessly for me

All I've done is clarify what they suggested over on the Sony board, Yankee. wave

Re: the patch, I've opted out of the Heavy Rain update for ages, simply by using the Circle button to cancel it and starting the game up normally (and, yes, you'd have to do that each and every time). If that fails, I suppose you could always disconnect your PS3 from the 'net before inserting the disc; that way, it wouldn't perform the check for updates and you'd be left with the original game data. It'd allow you to test it out, at least.

I haven't actually played KZ2 so I'm not really familiar with it. I'd give that PM a shot, if you haven't already!

Continuing thanks to Fee and Yankee. What would we do over here without our caring and helpful members. wave

jim, I just see your post since I was out of town and internet.

Before Garza calls "Sev over here" he says something like "it seems this is the last of them", "something something two in the Academy", at that moment the game acknowledges all enemies are dead, does Garza say that in your game?

Oh, you are right - if G doesn't say that it means they aren't all dead - wonderful if it's something like that!

According to some advice from motherh666, a Kilzone 2 developer, on the Playstation Community Forum, I started the game by using the "Select Chapter" section rather than "Continue" and lo and behold IT WORKED! I don't know why but I sure am glad. Many thanks to Yankee Clipper and all the others who helped me through this "crisis".
