I'm glad you were finally able to purchase this game. I'm still waiting for mine to arrive in the mail. It should be here any day now. As far as the PATCH, look at the first post in this thread (by ShinjinGR). He provides a link to the game website which contains TWO patches. One is for an update for the game, and the other is for the ENGLISH TRANSLATION (of the text). You must install the UPDATE PATCH first, and then the ENGLISH PATCH. I have already downloaded these patches in anticipation of installing the game after I have received it. I will keep you posted.

Sandy I thought you had to install the game first before installing the patches. When you downloaded the patches where did they go. I'm not that good about looking where downloads go. Could you tell me where I have to look for them, and how to install them in the game. Thanks Richard

You won't be installing the patches until after you have installed the game, but you can download them now so that you don't have to download them later. Not sure where the downloads end up on your computer, though.

Richard, I just used my Google Translate program to "decipher" your message into English. Basically, it says that you will be receiving your item on January 1st. 2015. The rest of the stuff is just verifying your address. BTW, of course you have to install the game first before you install the patches. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. Just checked my snail mail. No package as yet.

kjos, I think if you click your start button and your Richard folder (or whatever it is named), you should see a downloads folder where the downloads would be found.

Richard, when you download a game, it goes into a folder. That folder is where you probably will find the patch download files. Hope this helps.

Hi Richard-

I would suggest that when you download the patch files, you right click on the link and select "Save Target As", then when the browser window pops up, you can designate your desktop as the location where they'll be saved, so you won't have to go hunting in various folders to find them. You can always move them into a folder on your desktop as long as you remember where they are.

I finished Black Sails today and am happy to say I thoroughly enjoyed it !!

It's not a super long game but I felt it was a very decent Adventure nevertheless - and - I will probably play it again some time because it seems there are different endings possible.

I hope you will have as much fun with it as I did

I'm still waiting for my game as well. The expected delivery is scheduled for between Dec.15 and Jan.2. I bought mine thru E-BAY.
I'll just have to wait and see, I guess. When I "deciphered" YOUR e-mail from them from German to English, it said YOU would be receiving your game ON Jan.1. I hope you DO receive it on or about that date even though it IS scheduled to arrive on New Years Day.

I got my game under the Xmas tree. When I went to install the English patch I had a heck of a time getting the patch to run properly. I kept getting "access denied" errors when I tried to run the "runme" file. After an hour or so I finally got it to work by taking ownership of the folder. I'm glad I got it going- it looks like a good game.

YAY! Finally received my game today. Installed it. patched it, and running it now. It seems that putting both patch Zip files into the "Black Sails" folder and then extracting the files from there made it "work" for me. make sure you run the "RUN.BAT" file and then overwrite everything it asks you Enjoy the game, and Happy New Year.

I finished this game today, and I have to say that I really enjoyed playing it. It's a REAL adventure game, one that you don't see enough of
lately. I played both endings, so I guess I covered them all.
Richard, I hope that you have received your game by now.

I came across a few "glitches" while playing it (loss of Voice, then the game crashing),but restarting it and loading the last savegame got me through it each time to the ending. This "problem" occurred only two times, so it wasn't any big deal.

Sorry to hear about the glitches, sanford, I didn't experience any myself - but glad you thought, as I did, that this game was a good Adventure.
